From Pete. How does one know that they are on their way to winning the SDEs based on 70% precincts? Because they outperformed polls after realignment. On our way???

This is total scumbag shady behaviour

This better be a joke..... Wink

Vote President Trump in 2020. We can't keep voting for a corrupted Democratic Party. Send the Democratic Party a message that it needs to change. Advantages to Iowa and New Hampshire, ties between a voter counting app and a campaign, caucuses that aren't clear, Superdelegates that determine elections...the Democratic Party needs reform. Voting for President Trump in a landslide when he's probably going to win anyways is the best way to cause positive change for the Democrats.

This is appealing and all, and I did support him in 2016, but he's literally the most corrupt president in modern history. No democrat will ever match him.

It doesn't matter if you think that, because after 2020, President Trump will be out of politics. The Democratic Party may be around for hundreds of years. We need to give the Dems a wake up call.

4 years is a lot of time for our country to be damaged.

They DO have (or will have in the next 12 hours) FOR SURE and 100% all of the initial results before the candidates under 15% were eliminated, right? Can't they just issue delegates to ALL candidates based on those "first round" ballots under these unique special circumstances, because at least we would know FOR SURE that those delegates represent the will of the voters?

Seems like the best solution at this point. If the caucus is made null and void, that's a disadvantage to Sanders and Buttigieg.

I mean, it sort of goes against the spirit of what the Iowa Caucuses are, though. That's not to say the system is worth defending (clearly), but candidates went into this contest with a common understanding of the ground rules and the process. Being able to win over other candidates' supporters is a central feature of this whole gimmick, and it's one of the quirks of Iowa that makes it worthwhile for candidates to invest in a well-trained ground team. To suddenly switch to the initial count would invalidate that investment.

I'm not sure how representative this is but I like the fact that they are specific and am inclined to believe these numbers more than any numbers Pete put out.

There is no reason why second round totals shouldn't exist. None. If people left and the count doesn't add up, then the denominator just needs to be fixed or the person needs to be classified as uncommitted (whatever the rules prescribe).

I could easily show up voting for Steyer first as a pity vote knowing only the second round matters and that I would have a chance to select a viable candidate. The first round means nothing to the voters except when they are gaming the system through viability.

Why would Warren lose so much (and Biden gain so much) in translating the final vote into SDEs?

MSNBC is now blaming Bernie Sanders for the caucus issues. They are saying Bernie's call for an extreme amount of transparency where two new numbers had to be gathered probably caused the app issues. This is totally #FakeNews, and this is why nobody trusts the MSM anymore. It's not that complicated to put out two numbers that they have anyways. lol

Rural areas. CD4. Warren is getting clobbered in those areas & Bernie/Pete/Biden were doing well. Mosr of the results reported initially were from highly educated urban areas.

Isn't one of Pete's staffers known to be one of the dirtiest players in Democratic politics, as well as all this news about him crying about polls/paying off the app company?

What a horrible night.

Honestly, this is 800x worse than the DNC's hijacking of the nomination in 2016. Hillary was a bad but utterly credible candidate. To have the process hijacked again by a random photogenic small town mayor who has traded on his sexuality to keep his campaign financially viable is beyond dystopian. National Dems are so profoundly unserious.

So, according to Bernie, these are the Iowa results:

1) Bernie
2) Pete
3) Warren
4) Biden
5) Amy

Warren in 3rd is undisputed.

Funny hijacking - Clinton would have won without superdelegates.

MSNBC reporting these Bernie numbers are based on 40% of the total, so that's not good enough to determine a winner/order.

I'm sure its them telling the other campaigns that Pete won and go to sleep because otherwise their donors are angry.

You can't totally say that because Superdelegates came out early and made it hard for Bernie to convince people that he could win. We don't know what the total impact of that was.
