Braves and Cards are a lot alike.  Good pitching, good defense, "smart" baseball and both are red hot.  Should be a good series.

Welp I usually support the Red Sox and Cubbies but both are eliminated now. I was gonna post a hot take that the Brewers wouldn't make the postseason and the Rays would, but looks like that neither will come true. Anyways, here's a postseason bracket:

NL Wildcard: Washington Nationals def. Milwaukee Brewers
AL Wildcard: Cleveland Indians def. Oakland Athletics
NLDS: Los Angeles Dodgers def. Washington Nationals (3-1), Atlanta Braves def. St. Louis Cardinals (3-1)
ALDS: Houston Astros def. Cleveland Indians (3-1), New York Yankees def. Minnesota Twins (3-1)
NLCS: Los Angeles Dodgers def. Atlanta Braves (4-3)
ALDS: Houston Astros def. New York Yankees (4-2)
World Series: Houston Astros def. Los Angeles Dodgers (4-3)

So basically 2017 2 Electric Boogaloo

According to mlb.com, the wildcard winner plays the division winner with the best record.  So it will be Dodgers-WC and Cards-Braves in the NL.

Also, you have two AL teams in the World Series. Smiley

Bummed out about the fate of the 2019 Cubs.
At least it appears Cleveland is out as well.

I had a nightmare last night that the ALDS had been shortened to three inning games (Tyler Cowen had an interview with Samantha Power where he pushed her on games with fewer innings but she did not give in!). The Yankees trailed the Twins 5-2 in the second of Game 2 and Giancarlo hit a bomb in the second to cut it to 5-4, but a three pitch third ended all hope for what could have been at least a solid season.

I just know this line-up is about to go cold for the playoffs just as our pitching is as strong as it could be. I don't feel the Twins can shut it down thankfully so that's the better case scenario, but it does not bode well for a pennant.

The NL Wild Card game between the Brewers and Nationals is tonight. The winner plays the Dodgers in the NLDS, while the loser goes home.

Playoff baseball always seems so bleak when you're not hitting. Only four more innings to get a rally. Only three more innings to get a rally. And then...Beautiful! So happy that one of the two absolute worst teams are out.

Cardinals coughed up a 1-0 lead with one out away from taking a 2-1 NLDS series lead. Instead, they lose 3-1 and fall behind 2-1 in the series.

Tomorrow is a must-win game for my Cardinals.

Kiki Hernandez, Russell Martin and Justin Turner leads the way for Dodgers. Nats weren't gonna beat Dodgers. Braves with Freddie FREEMAN should go 6 games. Setting stage for Dodgers v Yanks Wrld Series. Yanks have learned from 2017 defeat v Astros, but you cant count out Braves or Astros.

Both NLDS series will be headed to the full 5, thanks to Yadi for the Cards and Ryan Zimmerman and Max Scherzer for the Nats.

Cards v. Braves and Nationals v. Dodgers on Wednesday night. Winner goes to the NLCS, loser goes home.

In the ALDS, the Yankees swept the Twins, will await the Astros-Rays series winner.

The Astros-Rays ALDS series is now a full five-game series, as they erased a 2-0 series hole to tie it up 2-2.

After winning with hits in Gm 3, Dodgers faultered in Gm 4, AJ Pollack and Will Smith catcher have been disappointing. We need free agents. We need a manager that can get a good clean up hitter and a good catcher and Joe Girardi hasnt signed with Cubs yet. Dave Roberts is a joke.

Whoever wins between TB and HOU better beat NYY. I don't know at this point who is more likely to do that. I would've said HOU, but TB has shown some cracks in their armor of late.
