The Cardinals are on a roll lately. That's great news.

NL Central is a real log jam ... even the Reds.

Definitely the division to watch this summer, especially if the Pirates pitching keeps this up.

Our title was more of a fluke than your last title?  Or your last pennant?

Oh wait, N/A.

Cool, still a fluke, doesn't change it. Doesn't change the fact that the Cub fan "bro" culture is toxic anyways.

Go to come Cubs games, they get wasted and try to start fights with all the fans. It's actually pretty sad.

Speaking of classy fanbases: https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/columnist/bob-nightengale/2018/07/21/josh-hader-cheers-milwaukee-brewers-fans/815164002/

Good to see the only two worse than Boston going at it.

The assumption that this happens more with the Cubs fan base than others is so laughable. In April I went to the Cubs-Brewers opener in Milwaukee, and I've never been more uncomfortable in a sporting environment in my life. My wife and I were screamed at by drunk Brewers fans a dozen times walking in and out through the parking lot. Not one group, but over and over and over again. They told us to go back where we came from and screamed objectifying things at her. It was completely uncalled for.

So yeah, there are surely some bad apples in the Cubs fanbase. But its delusional to keep beating the drum about "toxic Cubs bro culture" when that exists EVERYWHERE, including in your own backyard.

Rooting for the giants really is torture.

And it's not even the good kind anymore.

Is there a reason that MLB interest pales compared to college football interest around here? I feel like those are the two most obvious sports for political/history nerds to latch onto (given how intertwined they are with ancient history along with the number compiling nature of the former). After all, it's what got Nate Silver started. On AAD, there is clearly much more passion for MLB. Is this an age thing given that AAD is largely people in their 30s?

I get that the American League is a trainwreck right now, but the stats seem more fun than ever. I'm more inclined to cite AAD as having a large New York/Boston contingent (and Mets fans being perpetually excited) compared to the Chicago/St. Louis rivalry that seems to persist around here.

I'm obviously having the time of my life watching Urshela, LeMahieu and Tauchman leave their mark on history and watching Gleyber Torres' very clear Hall of Fame trajectory. But I'm also very much enjoying Bryce Harper legitimately having fun out there, Yasiel Puig and Jose Ramirez having resurgences, Xander and Devers making up one of the finest left-sides in my lifetime, and of course the GOAT outdoing himself in single season homerun totals. Nothing would make this season better than the Mets finishing one game short of the Wild Card berth.

I hope my Cardinals make the playoffs.

Bellinger and Yelich are in a race for the NL and overall lead for homers.

Loving Pete Alonso, too.

I went to my first ever MLB game 10 days ago, I saw the Tigers beat the Royals. A shame neither team is very good this year but at least Detroit won.

I have not yet given up on my New York Mets.  We still have a shot at getting a wild card berth, if we play well.  To quote legendary Met (and Phillie, bah) Tug McGraw, "YA GOTTA BELIEVE"!! Smiley

Cubs in the middle of a rather epic late season choke.  Lost the last 5 games by a total of 6 runs, several in tragic ways, all to division rivals and worst of all, 3 to the Cardinals.  Lots of domestic violence tonight in the Windy City.  After scoring 54 runs in the 4...FOUR! previous games.

Cardinals will be breaking their 3-year postseason drought. That makes me happy.

A Stanley Cup and a World Series 4 months apart would be super sweet.

Good to see the Cubs collapsing after being so arrogant again. 2015 they got lucky, Fly the L scrubs!

Yippee!!! My Cardinals will be in the playoffs for the 1st time since 2015. It's just a matter of whether it is as NL Central champ or as one of the 2 wild cards.

If they're the champions, I look forward to their series with the Braves!

The Braves have been a lot of fun this season.  Picked 3rd or 4th in the east by most experts, they ran away with the division.  They're loaded with good, young talent and are exciting to watch.

Looks like Braves, Dodgers, Yanks and Astros are gonna be final 4. Rematch of 2017, due to Verlander and his pitching, looks likely with Astros. This time, Dodgers and Kiki Hernandez, come out on top
