Not remotely surprising. The NJ Dems are a machine, and a pretty good one at that.

I think this is her way of saying "I know I'm polarizing, so I want to settle into my role in Congress first before I go backing any candidate"

She'll back Bernie or Liz though

Yeah, this is actually one of the smarter moves she's made of late imo.  This way she has more influence as the field is starting to take shape and remains a valuable potential endorsement for folks like Warren, Sanders, Brown, etc.

Mikie Sherrill for Booker (Boooo)

How is this even remotely surprising to you? She’s a right-wing machine candidate in New Jersey of all places.

....Never said I was?

Harry Reid will not be backing anyone ahead of the Nevada caucus

He already said he essentially supports Warren (short of an endorsement, due to his power in Nevada)

Shoot, Warren could be the front runner here. Politico did a great piece last year about how Reid, whilst denying allifilation in the 2016 primary, quietly got his machine behind Clinton, and delivered her the state.

Agreed!  It's mildly unfortunate for mapping purposes that Democratic districts tend to be physically smaller.

This is a fun little endorsement tracker from 538

It assigns points to each endorsement based on their importance. Includes a few categories that I don't have in my tracker (DNC members and state legislative leaders) and it also shows the number of points each candidate has in each state. Like Corey Booker already has 53 out of 60 points in New Jersey (~88%).

Gillibrand is in touch with the people, so she doesn't need establishment government endorsements. Tongue

She's still technically in exploratory mode too.
