People that defend this cop and other cops like him are the evil ones. there's far too many weak men who become cops just because it makes them feel like Billy Badasses and this is the end result of toxic masculinity, police brutality, and institutional racism.

Amazing for the hate for Buttigieg on Atlas, even among many Atlas Democrats simply because they are betting on certain other horses in the race.

Don't think he's quite ready to make it in '20 for DEM-PRES, despite the $$$.

This, basically.

I do think Buttigieg will get a high profile appointment in a Democratic Administration if elected.  I would not be surprised if it were something like UN Ambassador; the sort of appointment given an appointee with a political following, but without overwhelming traditional credentials for the Presidency, in order to give that person "Foreign Policy Experience".

If Trump does win again, I could definitely see him winning the DNC Chair next time.

I read all that as either "I hate white people" or "I am a self hating white male." Please help translate.

Washington (CNN)Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg weighed in on his opponents' plans to implement "Medicare for All" and free college tuition, calling them "questionable on their merits" and "pretty far out from where Americans are."I do think that we should be realistic about what's going to work. And just flipping a switch and saying we're instantly going to have everybody on Medicare just like that -- isn't realistic," the South Bend, Indiana, mayor said in an interview with CNN's David Axelrod slated to air Saturday night."I think that when it comes to a lot of these policies that we're being pushed to do -- say that we can pay down the last penny of tuition for any student including the child of a billionaire. These are things that are questionable on their merits and of course also pretty far out ... from where Americans are."

"The best way to do that is a Medicare for all who want it. We take some flavor of Medicare, you make it available on the exchange as a public option. And you invite people to buy into it," he said at a CNN town hall in March.

People criticize poor Beto when Buttigieg does a 180 You-Turn. This guy said Medicare for all is a Moderate idea unlike in UK where the government has a lot of say in hospitals & he said GOP will call Democrats socialists anyways.

Not every Goldman person is automatically a crock (btw, I don't know the guy). But I fully expect the left to go after that.

But why would he voluntarily burden his campaign with such a walking attack point? That shows poor political acumen at best and a willingness to cozy up with Wall Street a worst.

He personally attended secret anti Bernie meetings with Democratic leadership, so no real surprise here. The meetings were held by Bernard  Schwartz, who personally did more to collude with China than the entire 2016 Russia thing amounted to.

She had an environmental job in Goldman Sachs more than a decade ago and then worked on global development for Google. No one will actually care other than Twitter. But, you know, the media loves their headlines.

If she a good hire as policy director? There are 100s of options including academicians.

I guess Pete from calling Medicare-for-all as the moderate option wants to overtly make sure that he is the most conservative candidate of the Top 5 candidates in the race.

His whole campaign seems like an ill conceived startup in Silicon Valley. VCs (rich liberal donors) throwing money at a hopeless idea, until it becomes clear it'll never work out.

Pete has released a set of economic policies he will pursue as President

Quote
These policies will:

Guarantee gig economy workers their labor rights, including unionization

Institute gender pay transparency

Impose strong, multimillion-dollar penalties that scale with company size when a company interferes with union elections

Level the playing field in union elections by requiring “equal airtime on company time,” so that workers hear from union organizers and not just employers
Enshrine the right to multi-employer bargaining

Expand federal protections to cover farm and domestic workers

Establish a consistent preference in federal government contracting for unionized employers that provide workers with fair pay and benefits

Quote
These policies include:

Raise the federal minimum wage to $15 per hour and indexing to wage growth

End “right-to-work” laws, which ban union security in collective bargaining

Deliver card-check rights

Guarantee workers access to paid sick leave and paid family leave, and the predictable hours and wages they deserve

Ensure that all workers can bargain with the companies that actually control the terms of their employment

Stop employers from permanently replacing workers who strike, enhancing workers’ rights to secondary boycotts

Take steps to prevent union election interference

Create safe, equitable, accessible, and fair workplaces for women and all people that are free of harassment and discrimination

Include domestic workers, who have been historically excluded from many employment laws, in common workplace rights and protections

And if he does attack anyone, he’ll be criticized for punching above his weight and being irrelevant.
