Julian Castro really wants you to know that he's interested in the presidency with his "I have every interest in running" comment:

I don't think Castro would be a bad candidate, however I think the Democratic nominee needs more experience... but of course, he has a lot more experience than Trump.

https://www.cnn.com/2018/02/06/politics/kfile-sasse-ambassador-statement/index.html

Is Ben Sasse plotting a primary challenge to President Trump? His office just tore into Trump's nominee for Ambassador to Barbados, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominca, Grenada and St Vincent and the Grenadines, calling the nominee, Leandro Rizzuto Jr, a "cynic and nut".

Castro and Inslee both attended the Crosscut Festival in Seattle over the weekend, and were both asked whether they'd run for prez in 2020.  Castro gave an "I might", and you can watch the video of his answer here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBGwZnYlFzE

I don't know if there's video of Inslee, but his response is mentioned here:

Bullock's asked about a 2020 presidential run, and gives the standard non-denial “2020 is a long way off", though he also talks about how his achievements in Montana are relevant for a national audience:

He does *not* sound enthusiastic about a Senate run though:

Being interviewed by Chris Cuomo, Biden says that there are “a lot of talented people in the Democratic Party” who may make better candidates than him:

So Chris Cuomo wants Biden to run against his own brother?  Tongue

He’s planning to actively campaign in the midterms, and just did some events, including robocalls for candidates in the early caucus state of Nevada:

Here's a new story on O'Malley, though a lot of it is quotes from a Seth Masket column for 538:

Julian Castro has begun running Facebook advertisements for his Opportunity First PAC, promoting "Progressive Candidates" for 2018, but very likely himself in 2020.

When a potential candidate is asked about 2020, and they answer that "It's premature to even consider 2020", that's code for "I'm thinking about running for president in 2020".  Tongue

This might be a net negative for him since more and more Dems seem to want more small donor fundraising.

I don't think the number of voters who pay attention to where candidates are getting their $ from is that large.
