Is this supposed to be a Wernher von Braun type? I suspect given his Third Reich background (despite his sympathy to certain Jews), he was a pragmatic German nationalist and anticommunist in the Thirties who was willing to back the Nazi regime if they successfully pursued the goal of restoring German power. Probably a fairly consistent anticommunist Cold War Republican from the Forties onwards once he arrived in the US. Is this supposed to be a Wernher von Braun type? I hate being the thread hogger here but I'll respond given the inactivity. I would say his denominational affiliation (the liberal PCUSA vs more conservative branches like the PCA) will determine his politics. On balance, I would say he is a Never Trumper Republican who has shifted somewhat left since 2016 and loathes Trump at this point, voting for Biden in both the primary and general election. Still has conservative views on many issues especially national security and (to a lesser extent) economics. Supportive of Israel due to historical background.
