At the very minimum, we should all offer critical support to the upcoming Biden Administration against the putschists.

These terrorists need to be stopped by any means necessary.

No. If anything I side with the putschists because I always support the underdog perspective. You remind me of this group that actually admitted that most of the imperialist ruling class supports Biden but still endorsed him anyway because MUH NAZIS: http://www.lrp-cofi.org/statements/election2020.html

Biden is the most bourgeois and reactionary Democrat in decades (while Trump is the least "bad" Republican, compared to Reagan, Bush, McCain, Romney, etc.) yet has gotten unprecedented support from supposed "radical leftists" who used to oppose the Democratic Party. Even Obama never had this kind of support and it is pretty disappointing, to say the least. I guess I shouldn't have expected much better from Trots.

I can't really stand with the MAGA movement though because it is cringe. I can support querfronts with some far-right groups but not the kind that think Obama wasn't pro-Israel enough, which is what most of the MAGA crowd are. I do stand with the woman who was murdered by the pigs. Working-class lives of ANY color don't matter to the pigs.

Lmao. This is a parody right?
No.

Sometimes the underdog is wrong.

Is anyone else surprised that Trump hasn't commandeered the twitter account of one of his staff members?  I can imagine him sitting in the white house watching cable news, stewing that he's cut off from twitter.

Rumors are he is now on Parler.

Hilarious to see the humiliation of the American political elite, the Senate chamber overrun and pathetic politicians cowering in fear.

A few things of note, it is funny how the left always presents itself as the revolutionary vanguard, but the street power of the left merely amounts to burning down random shops, it is the right which is clearly the revolutionary force, storming Congress, note how banks supported the BLM riots but put out statements condemning the march on Congress, shows who the real revolutionary faction is and who the establishment is.

Secondly one must note how funny it is to see American diplomats etc who crow about how it is democracy whenever some random country who happens to oppose America has its parliament stormed by people now say the people who stormed Congress were traitors etc. The reputation damage to America will be real, its hypocrisy has been fully shown in reality.

Imagine defending the president who let your country fall to China.

How many trumpsters are left on atlas at this point? Genuinely curious as almost all the blue avatars I’ve seen have turned on him at this point as well.

My guess would be:

-Arizona Iced Tea
-Buzz? Not sure
-Fuzzy Bear
-Del Tachi
-PRESIDENT STANTON

Idk about Jessica, RFayette, and SN.

Buzz denounced Trump yesterday, so you can cross him off the list. Del Tachi, however, seems to be defending or justifying what happened, and Fuzzy Bear wasn't even online yesterday.

Fuzzy has not been online since I told him he didn't understand grade school level math.

Also I think after all of this I must offer an apology to the BLM movement.
I called them out for looting and justified the police response under the pretense that there was massive property destruction, violence, and congregation during a pandemic.

Well...we saw all of the above yesterday and the DC police seemed complicit in allowing these protestors to go through.

Before I had thought that the idea of police hating black Americans was ridiculous. Yes I saw the George Floyd incident, but I viewed it as an outlier. I believed that a large cause of the disparities were largely due to poverty rather than race.

Yesterday cleared any illusions I had about all of that. The lack of a police response to these violent rioters desecrating our greatest landmark, our sacred hall, tells me everything. I hereby apologize for supporting the police response during the Floyd protests, and while I still do not agree with the looting that did occur then, it is clear there exists a shocking double standard in America which must change.

I still don’t think the slogan defund the police was ever bright, but I am more sympathetic than ever towards replacing the structure we have now.

I will say it now, even if six months too late.

Black Lives Matter.

Always have and always will. That being said, “Defund the police” was an incredibly poorly thought-out slogan that likely cost Democrats millions of voters, several House seats, and an outright trifecta on election night.

"Defund the police" has nothing to do with BLM.  It's a slogan invented by white leftist radicals who hijacked the BLM movement, because "Black Lives Matter" wasn't edgy or radical enough for them and they wanted their own slogan.

Maybe it's different for zoomers but the millennials I know who say this and ACAB are usually pasty white chicks who are the least likely in the country to suffer police brutality. Solidarity is great but the slogans are awful, and mostly, from white activists like you said.

Something that's been bothering me:

When I watched Joe Biden speak live, all I could think about is how elderly and frail he sounded. He didn't sound strong, and strength is something we need in light of a mob attack on the Capitol. He sounded very weak. I don't have confidence in him.

Calmness isn't weakness.  It's just something that we're not used to from a President lately.

Have confidence in this: Joe Biden has kept a cool head throughout ALL of this. The only time he was even close to losing his cool was during the first "debate" and who the hell could blame him. Joe Biden knows what he is doing. He knows the system. He knows to keep competent people around him. His administration will run smoothly.

I understand your points of view but my issue isn't his calmness, it's his image of a tired and frail old man.

Better tired and frail than crazy and deranged. He has four years in him but anyone who says he's gonna run for a second term is not thinking straight.

At this point, Biden's DOJ/FBI should consider putting every remaining Trump supporter on a terrorist watch list.

That is absurdly hyperbolic.  Even if many partisan Republicans are no longer really supporting Trump, there are still tens if millions of Trump supporters, most of whom are pretty normal people.  Rhetoric like this is only fanning the flames and making things worse.

Are they really normal though?

I agree. lumping all Trump supporters with the crazies who stormed the capitol is dangerous and wrong. A future Republican president could easily criminalize all of Biden's supporters as Antifa sympathizers.

No, no one could not. Antifa despises the Democratic party, I'm included, as much as they do Trump and the Republicans. Trump's supporters meanwhile have cuddled and condoned Trump despite every single day of The Last 5 Years demonstrating loud and clear in our faces his fundamental in complete emotional, mental, and moral stability ever be even considered as president of the United States.

Come on people. It's not like what happened yesterday given everything about Trump was remotely a surprise. His voters can't begin to claim this was unforeseeable. Well, other than to the Capitol police force, of course.

Then should we blame all Black Lives Matter supporters for the rioting that happened last summer? If your answer is no, then why should we blame every Trump voter for the riots.
Because, and I can’t stress this enough, DONALD TRUMP INCITED THE RIOT.
Every one of you is at least partly culpable, more so if you are pulling this both sides crap now.
Stop this rhetorical excess. Many, many Trump supporters are utterly embarassed at what has happened, IRL and on forum.
The rhetoric of you and the lot is looking increasingly unhinged, increasingly hyper-partisan (if that is someone possible), and detached from democratic norms.

If they're embarrassed they need to stand up, make that known and disown the man who created this monster.

The 2000s did not start until 9/11. The 2010s started when Obama won the election. Wednesday was the start of the 2020s.

Liberals would do well to reflect on this quote by Martin Luther King, there is a lot of truth to it with regard to how many Americans feel.

A riot is the language of the unheard - Martin Luther King

This was an attempted coup though, not a riot.

He knows that.

If there is one thing on God's green Earth that a trump supporter is not, it's unheard. You can't open a paper without reading yet another profile of one of their diners in the middle of nowhere. They are not an oppressed minority like African Americans in the civil rights era, they are a coddled, romanticized minority that uses violence and corruption to achieve their political goals and to stay in power despite almost always receiving less votes than the majority party.

Don't twist Dr. King's words to defend racists, neo-nazis and murderers. It's disgusting.

All the major institutions, corporations, academia, media, the entertainment industry are opposed to Trump supporters who are ridiculed and often lose their jobs for the views, they are an oppressed group, they are oppressed by all of the major institutions and their voices are not listened to by any major institution in America except for now the WH.

On the contrary, the existence of the electoral college and the Senate, two of our founding institutions, makes sure their voices are overrepresented.

The clarifying part about this episode is that the Trump cult has in the past claimed that violence in DC was due to BLM and DC people instigating with Trump supporters.  Now they have no excuse.  It was just them.

Oh you haven't heard?  This riot was started by Antifa agents posing as Trump supporters.

Except for the woman who was killed. She was a martyr of Trumpism. Everyone else was Antifa in disguise.

Bankrolled by the Soros backed transgender antifa Islamic Chinese communists and BLM.

Am I the only one who thinks Trump can recover from this by 2024?
Or am I just a doomer?

I have no question he could win a Republican primary again.

He could win another primary tomorrow.

And he would go on to lose by at least the 413 nut map.

Armed stormings have been planned at every state capitol, as well as four consecutive days of armed protests at the US Capitol, per the FBI.

God help us.

https://abc7ny.com/fbi-armed-protest-president-donald-trump-capitol-raid/9563994/
If this turns into a bloody mess then I at least hope it will be the thing that finally discredits Trumpism once and for all.

If Wednesday didn't, nothing will.

De programming will be hard, if not impossible. However, social media is the connective tissue, so maybe we'll see.

These people aren't worth the effort to deprogram.  Lock all of them up and throw away the key.
They should be given a chance to self-deport.

No other country would take them.  Maybe we can buy Greenland after all and use it as a modern day Australia.

Some eastern european countries would absolutely take them. Perhaps Israel or maybe even parts of India as well.

Have many Trump supporters been around since Trump attempted a coup?

I’ve only seen Del Tachi post a few times, and have yet to hear from Fuzzy Bear or SirWoodbury.

I hopeful that they now see they were wrong to support him but I also kinda doubt it.

Fuzzy made a post suggesting Trump should resign. He's been very quiet though.

Woodbury is probably in federal custody.

Didn’t Woodbury say that he’s gonna leave the forum for 1 year if one of the Ds wins the runoff in GA?

I thought that was MM but there were several wagers around the runoffs.

If he does that, it would be the ultimate self-own.

Knowing today's GOP Loomer would move up there and win.
