Gosh darn, I bet on Craig for the nomination a few months ago and he got kicked off the ballot, a couple weeks ago I bet on Ryan Kelley and now he gets arrested just my luck.

Can you bet on Dixon next?

No GM, just to spite you I'm betting on Georgia to win the SEC now.

Not yet sure this will reduce his chances at the nomination.

A colleague who lives in the Detroit suburbs just told me he thinks it will help Kelley.

At the rate that Gretchen Whitmer is cashing in on good luck, this election will be an interesting historical tidbit to re-discover at the Whitmer Presidential Museum's grand opening in 2042.

Counterpoint: she's using it up too quickly and should save some for later in her career!

Agreed. This will be a primary campaign for the ages.

It's not that she was DOA before, but this drama might indeed make it at least Lean Democratic. Republicans could indeed end up blowing this one and Pennsylvania this year. For good, especially looking to 2024.

Alright so what's Whitmer going to use her second genie wish on?

If I were her, I would wish that her would-be murderers who got off instead got the justice they deserved.

Well, they deserve to be executed, and that isn't happening, so she probably should wish for something else (like a Biden victory in 2024, maybe with her replacing Harris on the ticket?).

I was thinking more like life in prison, as I weirdly assumed we were going by Aladdin genie rules (no killing, no making someone fall in love, no wishing for more wishes) as I always do when someone hypothetically asks what I would wish for.

If MI GOP is smart they would endorse Craig at this point. But they haven't proven themselves to be competent yet

Nah, if Craig couldn't get on the ballot he wasn't a good candidate.

Republicans cannot afford to nominate Kelley at any cost.

A write in effort by James Craig will certainly be an uphill battle. I wouldn’t rule out a Craig victory, because he appeared to be the frontrunner before being kicked off the ballot and there’s a divided field (which increases the chances of a write-in success), but I don’t think he’s favored. It’s still a long shot.

At this point, I think Tudor Dixon will probably be the nominee. She was gaining support and endorsements before all this craziness. And now that Craig and Perry Johnson are both off the ballot, I think Dixon will gain more support.

Oh I misunderstood I thought he was running a write in campaign for the general not the primary.

Anyway, Craig is an example of someone who on paper is a strong candidate but can't run a campaign to save their lives(Barletta is another example)

I really don't think this forum should condone calls for violence against federal law enforcement.

Am I crazy for thinking Republicans could win ME, NM, OR, MN and even CT before winning MI and PA?

I still think Dixon is favored in MI, Lamont is super popular and Jensen is just like Mastriano
But I do agree on ME and NM flipping before PA

FiveThirtyEight model expects Kelly to win the primary and gives Whitmer a 91% chance of beating him.

Thats because 538 are dem hacks who want Whitmer to win, thats why they have Kelly leading. It will probably be Dixon and she's got no worse than a 50 50 chance
