Mirrors, it was good but I did not like the ending, it was b/s.

Munich.

Like Zodiac, this needed to be shorter. It dragged and got boring at times. At least this had some entertaining action sequences to break it up, like the raid on the PLO commanders in Beirut (and the guy introducing himself as Ehud Barak was a nice touch.) Not the best film of 2005, but certainly better than pile of garbage Crash, which is the stupidest movie I have ever seen that was not deliberately trying to be stupid (like The Love Guru, et. al)

MUNICH's running length never bothered me.

That is the film that should have won in 2005 but it was overshadowed.

George Washington.

Another winner by David Gordon Green, though this is the rare film where I think the budget should've been higher, the production values and acting just needed a little improvement. But it's great this guy is finally getting recognition, I just hope it eventually is for his non-Pineapple Express stuff.

Gone Baby Gone (2007)

Although I feared the worst when my Philosophy teacher told us that Gone Baby Gone was directed by Ben Affleck, I was surprised to find out, that for a film directed by Ben Affleck could actually be a very good film. I found the film to be captivating from the start right until the finish. However, the only downside about Gone Baby Gone was Morgan Freeman. We all know that Morgan Freeman is an outstanding actor, however I feel that the film could have been even better had Freeman appeared more throughout the film, afterall he is Morgan Freeman Wink.

Tropic Thunder - The funniest movie of 2008 by far.  Every actor was at the top of their game, and it's the best performance I've ever seen by either Tom Cruise or Matthew McConaughey.  It'll leave you laughing throughout the movie.

Tropic Thunder (2008)

A very good film, a funny one at that. I was surprised how well Tom Cruise could play a prick though Tongue

Hamlet 2.

Very funny indeed, though there's not much payoff until the big finale with the play at the end.

Smart People

God, Ellen Page's character was such a bitch in that movie. What kind of a seventeen year old has a picture of Reagan on her bedroom wall yet tries to make out with her uncle? She was still really hot though and played her character well.

So she wasn't a Republican version of Juno basically?

I'm wondering where I should put that on my Netflix queue.

eh, they're somewhat similar (both are quirky and witty). But the movie isn't really about her (although she's the one who's being marketed, for obvious reasons); it's about Dennis Quaid and Sarah Jessica Parker. It's difficult to say whether or not I enjoyed it but the story is a little contrived.

Sideways.

A bit overrated (maybe you have to be a wine afiacondo to REALLY love it), but I did enjoy it. Certainly great performances from Paul Giamatti and Thomas Hayden Church.

Traitor.

It was enjoyable, though there was a few glaring flaws, nowhere near as much background on Don Cheadle's character as we wanted, and that annoying fake southern accent Guy Pearce had the whole time.

Hamlet 2 - Awful, just awful.  Maybe 5 laughs in the entire movie.

Saving Private Ryan

I went to see this in theaters one night back in 1998 because my mom and dad were going and had to take me along. I remember the opening battle scene and fell asleep through the rest. (Funny thing...this was in theaters the same time as my favorite film "Armageddon", but I didn't see that until three years later.)

I saw it from start to finish for the first time on YouTube the other day, and it was great.

Hating Sarah Marshall.

Perhaps a tad too much c**k.  But overall very funny.

Death Race 2000 - great movie...in a horrible movie kind of a way.

Dog Day Afternoon - raw and rough.  A classic.

I found the Bratz movie on YouTube last night and showed it to King. We each made it partially through, but not the whole thing. It is even more idiotic and bad than the trailer implied. If anyone wants to try, you can start here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4jL_a-KFOs

Actually that first scene alone is just worth watching for the laughably idiotic racial stereotypes, and hilariously unrealistic depiction of high school. But I don't blame you if you don't go any further.
