only post movies you've seen for the first time, not stuff you've watched again.

"Be here to love me", documentary about Townes Van Zandt.

In a movie theater?  I think it was Wedding Crashers.  On video/DVD, Cry Freedom.
Whichever was later. Even tv counts. Just as long as you didn't know it before.

This apparently straight-to-video movie was shown on the bus home from the Munich away game

I see this thread has veered far off topic ... then again what's the movie I saw last night? Brokeback Mountain, that's what. Maybe not so far off topic, then.

Will probably go to see "Inside Man" tomorrow... although the idea that Spike Lee makes a mainstream thriller sounds still kinda weird to me. Wink
What a sellout. Smiley

A good example for liberal Hollywood propaganda. Cheesy

Many people probably find "Syriana" both boring and too complex, because of its extremely slow pace, the almost documentary-like style, the multiple plots and storylines as well as the dozen or so different main characters (the numerous supporting characters not counted).

It isn't exactly your typical "blockbuster" action movie. You have to pay attention to everything what happens on the screen and you have to think a lot. The script for "Syriana" is from the same author who has written "Traffic" and in many ways both movies are comparable in the structure of their plots as well as their visual style. Think of it as "Traffic" with greedy oil executives and corrupt CIA officals instead of greedy drug lords and corrupt Mexican cops.

Guy I know told me he'd gone and seen it with his wife and they didn't understand the plot. Smiley

Bit heavy on the saccharine, but some great photography, some violence, some good music... I'm not complaining. Yeah, it was good.

A few nights ago, I saw "In Good Company" with Dennis Quaid, Scarlet Johansen (hot!) and that guy from That 70s Show. It was pretty amusing but nothing spectacular.

Am I the only one that doesn't find her hot?
No, since you do find her hot.

Dead Man's Chest.
Part one was way better, but of course that's too be expected in a quickly-made unplanned sequel.

It's been nearly four years since the first one and the end of that one left it open for a sequel. I wouldn't say that's quick or unplanned.
I think the sequel wasn't *planned* ahead, though. Anyways they took longer filming than they hoped to, which accounts for the four years. I don't think they took as long with the script or gave as much attention to it as they did with part 1. In fact, I'm sure of it.

I liked it.

3 Iron is my favourite Kim Ki Duk film (10 out of 10 masterpiece IMHO), but Bad Guy is almost as good.
I got to admit to not having seen any before this one. I was aware of the name, and intended to see one sometime... so now I did.

It´s great, isn´t it ?
Did the american version have subtitles or was it in english ?
It´s just bad it didn´t get an oscar 2006 for best foreign movie.
the actors, especially julia jentsch were playing shockingly realistic.
Speaking of Julia Jentsch... you really should go and dig out Die Fetten Jahre Sind Vorbei (Stupid english title: The Edukators)

"Pretty Baby" on tv. Sort of fitting as we are on the topic of sexual relations with 12-year olds in that other thread... of course, the actress actually was already 13. Tongue
