I've decided to begin learning computer coding and programming via online sources. My BA in Sociology simply isn't amounting to much career-wise. Although I've landed a job that, when I take and (hopefully) pass my national exam, will increase my pay to $16.30/hr, that's certainly not enough to make for a comfortable life or pay off my student loans. Not to mention that I don't want to do this particular job forever.

So, I want to open new opportunities for myself by learning web design. I know it'll take a while to learn, but I'm determined to do so. Establishing a career in the field will be a bit more difficult without a degree in a STEM field, but from what I've read, it's certainly not impossible.

Does anyone have any helpful advice?

Get a bachelor's in something more useful, and work your @$$ off in high school to get a good scholarship so you won't have to worry about crippling student debt. Starting this fall semester, my cost of attendance is literally going to be like 3k a semester. I'll have so little student debt if I graduate.

Good for you for doing things in a smart way at your age, but I’m 24. I already have a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. The advice I’m seeking is from people with some knowledge regarding how to enter into the fields of programming/web design and any recommendations they may have to help me towards my goals.

Feel ya there, brother. Hoping to upgrade jobs soon and, if not, I may sell out to a fellowship at a low ranked local school.

Indeed. My master plan is to design a cuck-porn website that’s actually a front for funneling chud money into the Sanders, Carter, AOC, and Omar campaigns - and, of course, my own pocket as well.

You always have to be moving up in life. I never would’ve considered tech just a couple years ago, yet here I am, beginning my journey of learning all this stuff so I can (hopefully) land a decent job in the field.

I hope things work out well for you and that you don’t have to settle.

My science teacher is just completely giving up on their job lol. They have said multiple times in the past couple of weeks that sometimes they wonder why they even attempt to teach us, and they were absent today, and made the test open note and open laptop.

I had a teacher in high school who saw the King of Jordan on TV and labeled him a potential anti-Christ. Top that.

The five of you are guided in your actions by evil impulses. The Devil has invaded your minds, and caused you to lash out at those who are not like you. Cast his influence out, and you will be set free. Otherwise, you will be condemned to the flames of oblivion. Your behavior has made clear to me that there are many in this world who are not righteous, who are not just, and who are led astray by foul practices.

So far I've lost 15 pounds in the past two months, very happy with that. My gut is getting smaller and smaller and eventually it'll be gone for good. The fat under my chin is virtually gone, so goodbye double-chin! Right now I am eating 1700 calories a day (except Fridays, cheat day) and I'm down to 193 lbs (down from 208). My goal is around 170 lbs.

Pretty happy with myself Smiley

I've have finally surrendered to the inevitable and got an android phone. Mostly to post multiple photos on the instagram, since I have no interest in other features, especially those annoying online games you keep hearing about. Atlas is already too much of an addiction.

I went with some friends and one guy really wanted to go to the Bay Area instead of Los Angeles and I'll admit I was tempted, but when we got to talking about it we all decided we'd rather go to Los Angeles, given the kind of things we wanted to do.

We plan to visit the Bay Area either next spring or summer, though. Like, road trip from TN to the Bay Area. It'll be lit.

Long story short, I don’t have to go the Bahamas, but I am at the airport dropping my sister off with my dad (he is not going), and both of them went inside and ditched me with the car in the dropoff zone, and I have been sitting here for over half an hour in a zone you are not supposed to park in. I also don’t even have a license, so I’m just sitting here with the car turned off. Hopefully he comes back soon.

UGH I kinda hope the car just gets towed away to teach him a lesson.

Dude, this is getting so annoying, if some airport personnel asks me to move, I’m just going to tell me my dad left me with the car can you take it away?

What an @$$hole move, if he knew he would be gone for so long, park the car in a proper place.

He told me to sit in the driver seat so the car looks occupied, and people have just been honking at me every 5 minutes.

Been over an hour now.

Finally he came back.

In a bit of a pickle between a fellowship at a lower ranked university and turning it down in order to apply for a professional position after I get my master's degree (said position has hired tons of graduates from my program, but I'm a pessimist). I'm trying to think of a scheme where I can balance both an academic and professional career, but I'm not sure in what order I'd do things and what is most advisable.

A vegan tacos order yesterday and some decaf Tim Horton's today are saving my Lent.

Had my first lesson driving stick about an hour ago.

By powers, I mean my tolerance is slowly getting back to 2017 levels.

Yesterday I rode about sixty kilometers in really strong wind, trying to find a new place to explore. I found nothing and today I woke up with a nasty cold. Fortunately the weather today is less than appealing, so I don't have a "I need to buckle up and move my ass" dilemma.

It's kind of embarrassing, though, since I'm used to such conditions.
