The GOP needs to excise the wackjobs from the party, (i.e. Greene, Gohmert, Gosar) and follow more of a Ron DeSantis-style path.

DeSantis can go  himself too. Literally, the only reason he has a job is because he has his lips surgically stapled to Trump's backside. And while we're at it Matt Gaetz can  off too

Sorry if this has been answered, but does whomever is acting Secretary in Transportation and Education have the same “vote” on 25th amendment procedure that Chao and DeVos did? Do we know who they are yet? Does Trump decide (who is *acting*) or was it predetermined who is next in authority?

The video is actually very good. He should have recorded this video on November 6 or 7 when it became clear that he had lost the election.

He should resign now to avoid being impeached and Pence should pardon him.

God's how in God's name can you say he deserves pardoned? Is this just a way of pardoning your own conscience for supporting this neo-Nazi?

No. It's just an embarrassment to the country to have a former President prosecuted for crimes and possibly convicted.

I got news for you __________.
What is "embarrassing to the country" is what we and the whole world, observed yesterday.

We don't know because it's never been constitutionally tested; the Deputy Secretaries take over until Trump says otherwise; their role is predetermined, but because Chao/DeVos resigned (instead of being fired), he can temporarily name whomever he wants under the provisions of the Federal Vacancies Reform Act so long as whomever he names is Senate-confirmed (or on the same pay scale as Senate-confirmed officials).

One of the frustrating things about all of this is it could have been avoided right from the start if Republicans had just picked basically any other candidate, in what was a large primary with lots of acceptable choices (relatively speaking).

Instead, they opted for the biggest loudmouth on stage, who despite having a very long and storied history of lying, scamming and disloyalty, earned enough votes to be nominated because people liked that he didn't talk like a regular politician. Guess what, those other pesky things like ethics, decent behavior and critical thinking actually matter when choosing leaders.

So for the love of god Republicans, next time have some decency and don't put the country through this kind of bs again.

They know no gods! It’s just a cheap and chintzy disguise for their one proposition: “rules for thee, not for me.”

Saying all Trump supporters support the despicable crap from yesterday is just as bad as saying all Biden voter support looting/rioting and antifa.  The broad generalizations are not fair to either side, so cut the shiit.

Did Biden lead an antifa mob to the Capitol?
No

Then it’s not a valid comparison. Supporting Trump after this is supporting this, full stop.

Considering the congressmen supporting him pushed the "count the votes" crap which clearly contributed to the storming of Capitol Hill and that many Biden voters voted because they felt Trump couldn't deliver on "law and order" it's not a broad generalization. It is putting the blame where it is, on Trump's supporters who still subscribe to his election fraud rhetoric and decided to disrupt the certification vote.

"This MOVEMENT started with Trump. Who gives a  if he threw in the towel tonight after 5 years. He just spent 5 YEARS going solo against every supposed ally & the deep state. Do you need this guy to carry you forever? It's OUR turn now. He lit the way, we have to follow the path."

"Pence feeling regret? TOO LATE TRAITOR"

"Dan Bongino has been locked out of Twitter. Statement "I got locked out of Twitter for posting the Trump taped speech. As a result, I’m leaving the platform permanently for Parler. I’ll post my final tweet and message for twitter tomorrow when the 12 hour lockdown ends.""

"The US Capitol is hardly a “sacred temple of democracy,” it’s the sleaziest brothel in the world, totally bought and controlled by powerful interest groups and foreign governments. Who are they kidding?"

I am crying and praying for President Trump right now.

It’s kinda of a hilarious end to his presidency, you gotta admit it.  Tongue

He always stimulated fear of other people, now people are all scared of him. He could’ve accepted defeat earlier and maybe even win in 2024 Republican primary, now even if he escapes from the legal consequences of this, he will be publicly lynched on the streets in the best case scenario.

He will have to live in hiding even if he gets to escape justice, so he will never really be free again. And he will have to hear people treat him and his job as a pariah for the rest of his days. It’s a very sudden disgraced ending for him, especially considering he still had a lot of political power.
