When my country was invaded by Germany (TWICE), we have the right to fight back.
When Armenia is invaded by Azerbaijan, Armenia has the right to fight back
The same applies to Palestine.
The country is occupied as of today.
This is self defence.

If true, how much personnel the Israelis were able to retreat with would be rather important. Israeli doctrine emphasizes survival of tank crews as very important. You could always give a surviving tank crew another tank. It's far harder to replace experienced men than fighting vehicles.

India which historically had close relations with Iran and the Palestinians came out with a very strong pro-Israel position.  This is mostly about Modi/BJP.  I suspect INC would not have a strong pro-Israel position in this conflict.
