Rome?  Interesting move.

Ok, fair enough, I didn't realize the particular rules about that region
I wanted to show them the Forum Romanum.

Well, I wasn't expecting to still be in Berlin...

It's not a bad place to be ...

I had expected a move that would keep both the new German units in position to dislodge your fleet in the fall. The fleet would be more dangerous in the Baltic in the summer where there are four supply centers that need defending. It seems that Germany had that thought as well, it's just that he used an illegal move. I was thinking that F Kie-Bal, A Mun-Kie would block a Berlin move and insure that both those units would be in a position to dislodge Ber in the fall.

Now they aren't. Germany is also going to lose Moscow or Warsawa soon.

Incidentally, Saturday 25 April was ANZAC Day, the day on which Australians, New Zealanders and Turks remember those who have died in the service of their country. It was on that day in 1915 that soldiers of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps landed on the Gallipoli Peninsula in Turkey, along with soldiers from Britain, France, Canada and India.

They shall grow not old,
As we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them,
Nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun
And in the morning,
We will remember them.

Lest we forget.

The moves for Fall 1904 were:

France

F Mid-Atlantic Ocean - Spain (sc)
F Spain (sc) - Marseilles

Russia
F Berlin Holds
A Sevastopol - Moscow (*Dislodged*)

Italy
F Gulf of Lyon - Tyrrhenian Sea
A Marseilles - Piedmont
A Rome - Naples
F Western Mediterranean - Tunis (*Bounce*)

Germany
A Belgium Supports A Holland
F Denmark Supports F Skagerrak - North Sea
A Holland Supports A Belgium
F Kiel - Berlin (*Fails*)
A Moscow Supports A Rumania - Sevastopol
A Norway Supports A St Petersburg
F Skagerrak - North Sea (*Fails*)
A St Petersburg Supports A Norway
A Tyrolia Supports F Trieste - Venice

Austria-Hungary
A Budapest - Rumania (*Bounce*)
F Greece - Bulgaria (sc*) (*Bounce*)
F Ionian Sea - Tunis (*Bounce*)
A Rumania - Sevastopol
A Serbia Supports A Budapest - Rumania
F Trieste - Venice

Turkey
F Aegean Sea - Bulgaria (sc) (*Bounce*)
F Black Sea Supports A Bulgaria - Rumania
A Bulgaria - Rumania (*Bounce*)
F Constantinople Supports F Aegean Sea - Bulgaria (sc) (*Fails*)

England
F English Channel Supports A Burgundy - Belgium (*Void*)
F North Sea Supports A Burgundy - Belgium (*Void*)
F Norwegian Sea Supports F North Sea

The map after the moves appears thus:

A retreat is required for the Russian Army in Sevastopol, however this shouldn't affect the number of builds each empire will receive, therefore the following build orders are required:

F - N/A
R - Remove 1 (subsequent to retreats, unless the retreat is a disband, in which case build is N/A)
I - Remove 1
G - Build 1
A - Build 2
T - N/A
E - N/A

eeep!  Noooooo [wicked witch with water splashed on her] oooooooooo

What was the point of going Mar-> Pie anyway?  If I had gone to Pie, which was my original set of moves I submitted which I later revised, we would have bounced and you would have been forced to disband.  Worst case scenario is you keep Mar or I would be stuck in Pie instead of Trl, right?

What was the probability of staying in Mar being an option? Zero, that's what.

About the same probability of you defending Mar from Lyo?  Because that would have worked... surely not a 0% probability?

Sorry, haha, I just tend to over-analyze some moves.

As it happened, it actually would have. But if dead0 had absolutely wanted to, he could have made *certain* of retaking Marseille (though throwing open the possibility that I might take Spain).

Anyways. I preferred to defend Italy. Gaul to the Gauls.

Why, it would actually have been in your interests.

If you were allowed to disband that fleet, you'd get a second build. Which would obviously be in Kiel. But give you the choice of a fleet or army. Smiley

Thus throwing open the possibility that you might hold onto Marseilles.

If nothing else, this fall's moves did away with the possible AIG alliance. Perhaps it's a case of game imitating life. Wink
