So, England failed to withdraw its force from St. Petersburg and lost its army.

Take my warnings more seriously next time. Wink

And here is a video to try to inspire Russia:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yy8mxh0P63M&feature=related

The sound quality isn't the greatest (especially when the artillery commander starts singing) but the video quality is better than some of the other ones out there of this song (since it comes from a soviet-era movie, rather than actual footage). Oh, and yes, I know it's the wrong war, but I'm sure you'll enjoy it anyway (it's a pretty great song - I have a Russian Red Army Choir cd with it on).

It's not often I'll link to a marxist website, but here are the lyrics:

You control a larger share of Germany than you do of Russia.

alas...  I'll have further comment later about that decision process

I've come up with similar Soviet-Berlin historical memories myself, perhaps I should have posted that famous Reichstag image though, if only I were cool I would have thought of that first.  I remember looking at that map and thinking about how that seemed like almost the inverse of the Cold War

Well, I've achieved one thing. I've been in the game longer than Austria was in the first game here.

That picture, by the way, was a re-creation, as the actual flag raising took place at night. The camera man also swapped places with the soldiers to get a better skyline in the background.

Okay, I haven't received orders from Verin, so I'm going to refer to my precedent set in Game 1, here: https://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=79273.msg1674711#msg1674711 (predominantly because I should have sent a couple of PMs earlier than this, so I accept responsibility).

The other orders were:

F N/A
R Disband A Finland
I N/A
G Build F Kiel, A Munich
A Orders missing.
T N/A
E Disband F North Atlantic

The map therefore appears thus:

It's possible I won't be able to participate past June 14th since I'm planning to be in Central Java, I don't know what my internet situation will be like.

Hell yeah, that's real-world diplomacy.  I managed to haggle my way into a full program, two months past the deadline, without paying the application fee, and sometimes barely speaking the language I was engaging in.  Convincing Austria to invade Italy will be a piece of cake!  Smiley  ..err...I mean, something else.

I'll have access to a computer, but I don't know how frequently.  I think frequently enough to play the game.... we'll see!

Crap, I forgot all my Indonesian [my German is far better despite learning it prior] and I have to  be semi-fluent for the program.  STUDYTIME

All the best with that! That's about the same time as the wedding for me, so we'll see what's happening at the time.

maybe you should hold your wedding in Salatiga.  It's a Christian city to boot sir!  I'm trying to decide whether I want to wake up hella early with an Islamic family or if I want to go to church for three hours every week and pretend like I'm Catholic just like I pretend like I'm baptized with my Irish grandfather

I'll post the update sometime later today. My fiancee's sister colluded with my best mate to plot and plan and he flew interstate to stay the weekend here with me. It was a massive surprise, I had no idea!

MSN Messenger with the fine details hammered out over the phone, I think. Then she went to the "gym" on Saturday morning (which I thought a bit odd, since it was a public holiday) and when she came back, my mate was with her.

You're going to have a question about the Baltic in a few minutes. I'll give you a rules clarification on that afterwards.

Ok, fair enough, I didn't realize the particular rules about that region
