LOL

I didn't even watch that video but I know enough about Brown's...eh...articulate nature. She was one of my favorite objectors during the counting of the electoral votes in the joint session of Congress after the 2000 election.

She said that the voters "was disenfranchised" in the "last 'lection."

Ahh, The the famous "Shut up and sit down" segment from Fahrenheit 911

FL Christian Coalition executive director endorses Rubio.

Three guesses why.

Brown announced her exploratory committee.

WTF is she doing?  And why now and not before Crist declared?  I hope it's just name recognition and whatnot, but there's an infinitely more articulate, younger, more energetic, more connected, and richer candidate who already has a head start on the race, and it's not like Brown can present herself as the more electable candidate against Charlie Crist.  And, of course, they are both from majority-minority districts, so it's hard to argue that Brown winning in her insanely gerrymandered district demonstrates that she has some sort of appeal to areas that Meek does not.

What a fetching man.

If I were a little bit gayer and Crist was a little bit straighter...

Probably ignorable, but the Washington Times unsurprisingly gushes over Rubio:

And although unsurprising, the CfG attacks Crist again:

http://blogs.tampabay.com/buzz/2009/06/a-gop-challenger-to-crist-and-rubio-for-senate.html

damn, Marco's chances just went down.  Former Senator Smith launched a bid accusing Rubio of being too much of a "coalition builder" and not enough of a conservative "political leader"

Crist's allies may have engineered this if he formally enters the race.

Smith will be as much of a joke as he was in 2010 which means he won't even stay in the race. If he does, he's not going to be a factor.

The fact that there's anyone out there, even worth 1% of the public audience, criticizing Rubio for being too liberal, is less than ideal.

If Rubio pulls out a Davis vs. Goliath, he's going to win by a very small margin.  If Rubio and Crist run negative ads against each other, hypothetically, even a third name on the ballot no one has heard of before may get some votes.

Why doesn't Crist have an "on the issues" tab on his website, and why isn't "Contribute" in big bold red letters?

True but I don't think he'll actually get into the race. He won't have any real support. He didn't in 2004. Now maybe he just wants the spotlight for a little and will take any help the Crist campaign might offer. I'm not sure though.

I guess it's unfair to say he won't be a factor at all but this guy isn't going to get much support and the difference between Rubio and Crist, while most likely close, might not necessarily equal Smith's vote percentage.

It's still in the early stages for all of the candidates in the race.

I filled out a survey Rubio sent me [yes, I'm on his mailing list] and gave his website a host of improvement ideas.  I'm weird, aren't I?

It's over for the summer at the moment and I have full access to the internet while I'm at my various jobs.

I'll be posting sparingly in about one week though as I try and conduct research oops, that's illegal, "learn Indonesian," in Central Java.  You'll have to go somewhere else for your Florida updates

I just took a look at his website, and it looks like it's trying to be a complete website, unlike the other guys [last time a checked, too lazy to look this second].  So, Ronnie's right, the website is lacking the red button and the generic platitude-issuing, issues page.  I assumed that his website was still transitioning or, he wanted to be less of a candidate and more of a governor for the next few months, but it looks like it's just a rookie mistake on the red button.  Lots of professional websites don't figure out the red button thing though, that's more of the sort of thing that comes those that have made these websites before and have tested how to maximize the amount of pennies you can get out of each viewer.

On the issues page -- that may be intentional or it may not be.  On Marco's survey, for example, it asked if there should be such a thing.  I double emphasized that -- why wouldn't he want to broadcast all of the ideological stuff he's saying in interviews?  Anything extreme will be used against him in the general, so why not let it anything that could help him be known in the primaries?  For Crist, however, it's possible that he just doesn't know what his stance is on the issues at the moment as he doesn't know whether Rubio is a legitimate threat -- and neither do I.  Should he put up his most conservative positions and ignore his centrist ones?  It'd seem cheesy if all of his centrist record like "the environment," "taxes," and "judicial selection" magically appeared 5 hours after he won his conservative primary.

A candidate survey asked if an "Issues" page should be on the website? Uh, what the hell, Rubio?

(Damn, I was going to send you the link but some laptops got stolen from work during a break-in [I live in Berkeley, I'm just lucky the serial fingerer recently got arrested] and they locked my work email, hah.)

It was sort of in a list of things that should be included, only one that really stood out among the more technical items (hypothetical example: twitter feed).  It seems like they're really trying to streamline and grassrootsize/revolutionize their schtick.  Unsurprising, but when your opponent represents the establishment that leaves you with webmasters who sometimes try to overthink things.

I mean, let's take a look at the original website:

and, doesn't that look similar to Hulu's?

He fixed some of the similarities, but the interface is SO bad.  There are *two* horizontal scrollbars, one for the youtube videos and one to scroll through the videos, and no real substance on the webpage.  It took me forever (three visits) to even realize that's how you navigate his page, and I'm internet-literate.

So, I think Crist is miles ahead in comparison, even if Rubio is doing something creative.

Rubio was the first republican in the race, you would think he would have an established website by now.
