“You know, I have -- faith is a very big part of my life. And putting my life in my creator's hands -- this is what I always do. I'm like, OK, God, if there is an open door for me somewhere, this is what I always pray, I'm like, don't let me miss the open door. Show me where the open door is. Even if it's cracked up a little bit, maybe I'll plow right on through that and maybe prematurely plow through it, but don't let me miss an open door. And if there is an open door in '12 or four years later, and if it is something that is going to be good for my family, for my state, for my nation, an opportunity for me, then I'll plow through that door.”

Oh, and everyone already thought of your innuendo jokes before you did Smiley

That seems like almost a certain statement that she'll run in either of those two years, depending on how beloved Obama is.

Wasn't that already kind of obvious.

Well Mr. "The Sky is Blue" - it's still nice to have some verbal, definite confirmation of her intentions.

Jindal and Palin seem the two people who are most clearly indicating their interest.

I really wish she would go after Uncle Ted's Senate seat instead.

Not mutually exclusive.

I'll bet you at minimum $100 she has no interest in the Senate seat.

I agree - it's almost surely Parnell's if the seat opens up.

Yes, but for both of them, I could easily imagine them waiting until 2016 and skipping 2012 (more likely for Jindal than Palin).  For Romney and Huckabe OTOH, 2012 is almost certainly their last chance.

Actually, wait.  How has Jindal "clearly indicated his interest"?  By going to Iowa?  Huckabee is going to Iowa this month too.

Indeed.  Well, Jindal has been mostly clearly schedule for events and he's a bit more out-of-place in Des Moines than Huckabee.

But yeah, the Huckster is interested.  But there might not be enough room for both him and Palin...

But yes, you're right, Palin and Jindal have much larger windows.

So, Tina Fey said this right? Because that was just painful to read.

Well, unless her inability to articulate her beliefs in a passable manner changes in the next 4 years, she has no shot.

But boy am I rooting for Republicans to pick her anyway!

Palin in '12 or '16? Isn't this like Dan Quayle becoming the Republican nominee in 1996 or 2000?

Palin has a loyal following of a significant slice of the GOP.

She also "prayed" on Election Day that she would wake up the next morning as vice-president-elect...look how well that worked for her.

Just because you pray for something, doesn't mean it's definitely going to come true.  But it can't hurt.

Why should God take sides politically?

Nothing wrong with "praying" for good fortune as a figure of speech.

Actually praying to win an election or the lottery would seem to be sketch, but who knows.

Prayers are only answered in accordance to God's will.

(James 4:3); We must ask God to answer our prayer in accordance with His will.

A genuine prayer in essentially an act of faith that one's own request conforms with God's will because of the nature of the request. It is not horribly out of line to pray about an election; but to speak about it so publicly in this way is disasteful, particularly since God has already, obviously, opened a 'crack' for her.

If God is unavailable, I've no doubt that there are several other people who would happily show her where the door is.

Little sad that more people didn't talk about "plowing through her door crack" or something like that Sad

I know I said everyone knows the innuendo already, but surely someone should have gone there?

Neither of them are #45. I give myself between a 1% and 5% chance of eating my words.

That map will be pretty lopsided. Obama will break 400 against either of them. The states that barely went to McCain in the Northern Plains ....as well as Arizona...will be lost. That's 384 votes....and then Missouri and maybe even Georgia could be gone. That's 410 votes. Tongue
