The GOP will save him financially…and go broke in the process.

They made their bed and now they’re sleeping in it.

If the RNC will be spending a lot of their money paying these fines, what does that mean for GOTV efforts, advertising or down ballot races?

What kind of precedent does this BS give?

Don't say you're worth more than you know that you are when applying for loans?

That if you defraud the public you can be made to pay a fine.

They don't need that. Trump's 2016 campaign - the one that made him President - was basically run on a shoestring from some dude's basement.

Quote
(Via CNN updates)

Judge Arthur Engoron minced no words about his feelings of Donald Trump and the other defendants:

"In order to borrow more and at lower rates, defendants submitted blatantly false financial data to the accountants, resulting in fraudulent financial statements," he wrote.

"When confronted at trial with the statements, defendants’ fact and expert witnesses simply denied reality, and defendants failed to accept responsibility or to impose internal controls to prevent future recurrences."

If it was anybody else who was found to lie on financial documents for decades they would be in jail. Trump is very lucky this is just a civil case.

We've got a lot of grifting ahead of us to pay for this fine.

I'm already getting the fundraising emails from the Trump campaign asking his fans to pay his giant fine in New York. Because, you know, he's a billionaire.

A lot of gullible ordinary Republicans are about to become separated from their money.

The ruling is in.

$364 million fine

Trump banned from doing business in NY for three years.

Actually should be a "small loan" for a "billionaire".

Anyway, it won't change anything in support for the election, but drastically weakens his ressources for the campaign. The RNC is already broke and Trump de facto is grifting all the money from his cultists.

The RNC is already broke, as are many state parties.

There's plenty of corporate financial fraud enabled by the nearby Southern District of New York bankruptcy court. Too bad the Supremacy Clause prevents this court from going after them.

Who is even putting together this childish nonsense? And why use capital letters at the beginning of almost every word? Every fourth grader would be better at this. Not to mention the entire layout looks extremely unprofessional and as if it was written in 2001.

It is a good question.

I think the main thing we can conclude is that Donald Trump did not write it, because it doesn't have any spelling errors that I can see.

That response of his was something out of parody. Of course, he's been a living joke throughout his entire life, yet managed to become President, and could be again.

After all these breathless articles on why Democrats should replace Biden, are we going to see any about why Republicans should replace Trump?

Who am I kidding? The "liberal" media are salivating over his return to the White House.

Honestly one of the most frustrating things. The man literally has 4 different ongoing cases and now owes $500M in civil suits yet there's been no "Republicans need to replace Trump" drumbeat from anyone, especially the mainstream press.

Not to mention almost every election under his leadership of the party has been a disaster for the GOP. He's a bona fide loser. I get they like him but why keep listening to & nominating someone who is only causing your party to lose influence?

This is basically the GOP base now:
