Honored to take my oath and return to serving the people of Lincoln.

I’ve just taken the oath of office as an At-Large Senator. I thank the people of Lincoln for giving me a brief return to the Lincoln General Court; I hope the legislation and causes I championed during my tenure are taken up by the GC and advanced.

I look forward to serving the country with the same commitment to fairness, equality, and forward-looking policies that I have Lincoln.

A notice to my constituents and fellow Senators - I am going on vacation, starting in a few hours and lasting until Friday, September 15th. I should still be able to check in on things in the evenings but I will less active than usual.

I am very pleased to see two bills I initially introduced to the Lincoln General Court pass and be sent to the Governor. Both will have a positive impact on the lives of Lincolnites.

I am pleased that my first federal bill, the People Over Parking Act, has passed the Senate and has been sent to the President. While the important zoning provisions were stripped by my fellow Senators, I still believe that decriminalizing jaywalking will be important in reclaiming our public spaces for people, rather than cars.

I also announced I will be speaking re-election as an At-Large Senator. I believe I've done good work this term and hope the people will grant me another. Although the Senate has not been entirely receptive to my proposals, I think we've had some good discussions and reached some good agreements for the betterment of our nation.

The Senate is currently a very nasty and mean-spirited placed. I hope that in the upcoming elections, the voters will choose a slate of candidates who can acknowledge political differences in a civil manner. It is very discouraging to try to legislate in the current Senate, where every disagreement devolves into seriously mean-spirited personal insults.

I fully, strongly, and unequivocally endorse President Spiral for re-election. He has been a stable hand at the helm and has easily earned a second term.

I do not know at this time if I won or not - I am rather bad at math and trying to track the preferences would give me a headache this early in the morning. I will say this: if I have not won another term, I am proud of what I’ve accomplished while in office. If I have been given another mandate, I promise to fight on for the causes I’ve championed.

Today, I’ve decided that I will not run for re-election to another term in the Senate. I will complete this term, however, and continue to represent my constituents.
