This is a directory of all the different threads on crimes that Donald Trump (leading candidate for the Republican nomination as of mid-August 2023) is currently facing trial for. I will try to update this thread if he's charged for new crimes, or if we end up with new threads for existing crimes. Trump is scheduled to face trial in the U.S. Federal Court for the Southern District of New York in a civil suit alleging racketeering and fraud (Dismissed)
Trial Date: Jan. 29, 2024
Doe et al. v. Trump Corp. et al. is the case (Wikipedia link), alleging  racketeering and fraud by Donald Trump and his three adult children.
This case was Dismissed at the federal level, the request for a Class Action was Denied, and the individual plaintiffs have been referred to their state courts to seek damages from Donald Trump in those jurisdictions.

Trump is scheduled to face trial in New York in January for defamation of E. Jean Carroll.
(An additional case was brought, and the DoJ has declined to shield Trump from it.)

FINAL ORDER The Court found Donald Trump did engage in insurrection, but found him not covered by the 14th Amendment, and thus eligible to run for President.
In Supreme Court Case No. 23SA300, the Colorado Supreme Court (4-3) finds: "President Trump is disqualified from holding the office of President under Section Three; because he is disqualified, it would be a wrongful act under the Election Code for the Secretary to list him as a candidate on the presidential primary ballot."
Ruling is stayed until Jan 4th, 2024 to allow time to appeal to the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court will hear arguments on Trump's appeal February 8th, 2024.

The thread is a convenient directory, especially if some of the threads get unpinned (which the NY thread probably should be).  As for the last question, it's certainly a relevant question to U.S. politics.

This one is, to the best of my knowledge,the civil suit brought by the State of New York against Donald Trump and his adult sons for fraud and other misrepresentations. People of the State of New York, by Letitia James v. Donald J Trump et al  will go to trial Oct 2, 2023. I've been reluctant to include it and  Doe et al. v. Trump Corp. et al. (another civil fraud case set for trial Jan 29th, 2024), because unlike the E. Jean Carroll civil trial, they don't appear to have their own threads.  Most posts about People of the State of New York, by Letitia James v. Donald J Trump et al seem to have been in the "NY Grand Jury Votes to Indict Trump" thread

I can include civil suits with actual trial dates if that seems to be an appropriate expansion of the thread. If anyone has any links to relevant threads, please post them here and I'll add them to the OP.

You know whats worst? If Trump ever goes to jail, it'll be for activites from Nov 2020-Jan 2021. Of the four possible indicitments, three took place in these three months. (Jan 6, keeping documents, Georgia)

Had Trump conceded the election in Novemeber and not kept any secret documents, all he would worry about is the Hush money cases. And no one really cares about that.

I find it amazing. Democrats spend 4 years hoping Mueller would take down Trump. Turns out it took Trump losing the election to actually do anything jail worthy
