Honestly, at this point, if he doesn't resign, Dems get to have a nice comedic punching bag for the next two years. Probably fine either way. Incredibly easy vector of attack on the House Majority. Make him the symbol of the House GOP. Spread this story and do "Congressman X votes with George Santos 98% of the time...what does he have to hide?"

That almost worked on someone as green and inoffensive as Pat Ryan in this year's election ads, so I'm all for it.

I'm mildly surprised Donnelly's bothering. I guess this shows Santos really pissed off the Nassau County Republican Party, otherwise they'd be protecting him.

The GOP turns on their own, especially if it is a gay Republican.

They'd rather have a straight white person than Santos at this point in that seat.

Santos probably isn't gay, Bronz.

So he lied about that too?

Several people on Discord suggested Donnelly just wants Santos' job and is trying to chase him out to get at it?

Does she live in that district or NY-4?

I mean, no matter which one, she'd probably win a GOP primary in 2024 if she runs, but she's not going to get the nomination in a special over someone actually from the district (like Michael Montesano, for example).

I'm beginning to suspect there is no George Santos. He's just a figment of our collective imaginations.

LOL.
With as much falsehoods that he had created about himself, he is just about a "figment of our imagination."

These are the things that actually could lead to deeper problems, cause the ethics committee will try and follow the paper trail.

Republicans should look to Jack Martins and Democrats should look to Josh Lafazan. Suozzi and Zimmerman are has-beens.

This is a liberal-leaning district. It's not some rightwing district. It's a center-left district.

One entertaining Republican successor would be Queens councilwoman Vickie Paladino, but Long Islanders may not be happy that a city resident would represent them....

Proxy voting is being abolished in the new Congress so it’s a moot point.

This dude literally will lie about anything at all. It's not even like he was trying to cover up or protect himself. Dude was just spitballing 24/7.

Not if Kevin McCarthy abolishes proxy voting like he wants to!

According to the original NYT report on him he’s claimed his father has “roots in Angola”. Could very well just be another thing he’s lying about.

It's really, really low, when you start lying about when your own mother died.
What a creep.

Of course it is possible she moved, but when she ran in 2021 for DA, she was listed as living in Garden City, which is in the 4th.

There has to be something wrong with him, psychologically speaking. Even for a politician, this level of compulsive lying is just bizarre.

This is already as good as fact. He has some kind of physiological problems that I am not qualified to diagnose
