Of course it's still very early, but so far the replacement of Freddie Freeman with Matt Olson is looking pretty good for the Braves.  Season stats:

Freeman:

.324 BA, 0 HR, 4 RBI, .381 OBP, .786 OPS

Olson:

.421 BA, 2 HR, 2 RBI, .551 OBP, 1.235 OPS
Olson is better than Freeman and whether it is this year or next year this will become evident to most people.

It's not the fact that Freeman is worse but he was put on the Dodgers Max Muncy was injured all last yr and Trea Turner is on a hot streak a 27 game streak adding Freeman was best for the Dodgers not the Braves

Georgia Moderate Atlanta teams aren't going anywhere do you think Trea Turner and Betts and Freeman are gonna choke out to the Braves in the Playoffs no they're not

Georgia Moderate wrongly picked Bengals like Gramps to beat the Rams, Rams and Vegas are once again picking Dodgers to go to Wrld Series, the AL is weak without the Astros and had the Braves played the White Sox they could have lost last yr

So much for Braves being good with Olson instead of Freeman, Dodgers lead 6/1

Max Fried's got a perfect game going through five innings in tonight's Braves/Dodgers game.

The Dodgers always play their best ball against Giants, Angels and Padres and Twins have been terrible since Joe Mauer, this is typical Dodger ball the reason why they won I'm that Pandemic yr it was against our own League not against the East or Central Teams, Betts is obviously not playing well, he is a shell of himself since he left Boston and Xander Bougart who picked him up but obviously he won in 2020, as I previously stated it was against our own League
.i

It should of been the Dodgers v White Sox World Series but Freeman was on the Braves, and Astros are not that good they sux that World Series

Miguel Cabrera's one hit shy of 3,000 career hits. So what does Aaron Boone do? He calls for an intentional walk.

Mookie Betts once again shows he can do damage to Padres pitching but he always do it's the other Divisions that he doesn't hit well against like Braves in the playoffs last yr we shall see, what happens but he was picked up by Xander Bougart too as a Red Sox, he always plays well against Giants, Padres abd Angels

Miguel Cabrera is the latest addition to the 3,000 career hits club.

Myles Straw ought to be suspended at least until the All-Star break. Pitiful excuse for a ballplayer. He'll probably get off easy with 6 games.

Tonight's Marlins-Braves game featured a leadoff homer by both teams (Jazz Chisholm and Ozzie Albies), which according to the broadcast crew is only the second time it's ever happened.

It might also be the first time that both leadoff hitters in a game have had two Z's in their first names. Smiley

The Tampa Bay Rays almost had a combined no hitter last night in their 3-2 win over the Boston Red Sox.

Horrible behavior in last night's Yankee's/Guardian's game as Yankees fans were throwing garbage at Guardians outfielders late in the game.

Quote
Fans in the right-field bleachers pelted Cleveland Guardians outfielders with bottles, cans and debris in a chaotic scene moments after Isiah Kiner-Falefa and pinch-hitter Gleyber Torres notched run-scoring hits with two outs in the ninth inning to lift the New York Yankees to a 6-5 victory on Saturday.

Rather than a celebration, Aaron Judge and Yankees teammates rushed toward the wall in right-center field, trying to calm the crowd as security personnel joined the effort.

Cleveland closer Emmanuel Clase (0-2) was one strike away from preserving a 5-4 lead when Kiner-Falefa hit a 100 mph fastball for a tying double. Rookie left fielder Steven Kwan ran hard into the wall chasing the ball and was shaken up, and a trainer came out to check him.

Before play resumed, Cleveland right fielder Oscar Mercado pointed at the stands and center fielder Myles Straw climbed the chain-link fence in left to confront at least one fan face-to-face, while another fan nearby made a derogatory gesture.

"Brutal," Straw said in his postgame availability. "Worst fan base on the planet."

Cleveland manager Terry Francona, acknowledging that the Guardians were a little emotional at the end of the game, wasn't as poignant as Straw, but equally as disappointed.

"I don't think people can throw stuff at our players on the field," Francona said. "That's never going to be OK."

Torres followed by lining a single to right-center for the game-winner. As Mercado and Straw chased the ball in the gap, several fans began throwing objects at them.

With a blowout looking likely today, they should bring in Aroldis Chapman to go headhunting in the 8th or 9th, whenever Straw is due up. He direly needs to work on his control.

Braves aren't gonna win the World Series without Freeman, Olson isn't Freeman and Freeman said he was tired of the strict uniform rules especially off the field can't wear eye black, you can't cover up the A with Sunglasses etc

Dodgers you don't have to go by a strict uniform code

Umpiring in general has been even worse than usual this year.  They need to institute robotic ball/strike calling.

Apparently the memo going around among Major League Managers is to throw at Pete Alonso's head. He's been hit twice in the head in nineteen games.

The Mets have been hit with eighteen pitches in nineteen games.

Kind of hard to believe that none of them, or even most of them haven't been intentional.

As a Cards fan (and Mets hater since 1985), I'm a little embarrassed.  Good team you got there.
