There's a decent chance he'll run out of bombs first. Something has gone very wrong with Russian logistics.

No matter how badly they screw up logistics, they can’t run out of bombs. Even IS never ran out of bombs - they ran out of bigger ones, but there was always the capacity to make large, dangerous car bombs. When was the last time someone ran out of bombs?

There are bombs and there are bombs that you can put on an aircraft or fire from an artillery launcher.

The Americans have had issue in the past.

Incredible video of a Russian Mi-24 shoot down.

<tweet snip>
Evidently it was shot down using one of the donated Polish Piorun missiles

"Air superiority", sure, Jan.

That said, as much as I "enjoy" every Russian plane shot down and every Russian tank destroyed, I still feel kind of bad for many of the 20-something year old Russian soldiers not guilty of immediate war crimes dying in this senseless war, leaving parents, friends and spouses behind, for nothing. Mr. Putin for sure doesn't give sh-t about them.

Piorun shares its name with the Polish destroyer that went one-on-one with Bismarck for an hour.

Russia rushing headlong into totalitarianism.

You're saying this as some sort of gotcha, while at the same time Russia Today is kicked off the air in the West, while everyone is feverishly cheering it (see the thread in USGD). Hypocrisy is an allowed rhetorical technique but it sure makes you look dumb when you try to claim the moral high ground.

Yeah, I feel the same way about the regular Russian soldiers. Most of the Russian POW videos and images have been of guys that look at most 22 years old. The fact it seems they were set up to fail: rushed last minute planning, low to no supplies beyond the first few days, telling them they were only going on a training exercise, etc. makes me feel even more pity for them.

It’s possible, but I’m still skeptical they could run out of dumb bombs. They probably don’t take much to maintain (not as much as “smart” bombs, anyway), which means Russia schools be able to fall back on whatever remains of its vast Soviet stockpiles.

Russia bringing in the elite reinforcements:

lol. The US army in 1900 was more advanced than the Russian army today.

It should be noted that even during WW II horses and wagons were not uncommon, particularly on the Eastern European Front.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horses_in_World_War_II

Maybe that's next for Russia?

Might also help them with the issues they have been having with vehicles getting stuck in the mud, driving off bridges, etc...

Here is a photo of Russian use of horses during Operation Uranus:

Not that I want to defend Rubio, but what is the big deal? Zelenskyy has given live addresses from the exact same location to crowds assembled in Tblisi and Prague and it's not like Rubio announced where exactly he is. Also, it was known last night that Zelenskyy would be addressing members of Congress.

Really good Washington Post read...

This is just a brief excerpt of a much longer article:

"Russia’s business ties to the West took 30 years to build and one week to shatter

In the summer of 2003, Vladimir Putin flew to London on a special mission: cementing Russia’s business ties with the West.

He donned a white tie and tails to dine with Queen Elizabeth II. He sipped iced vodka with 700 bankers and business executives. And during an energy conference with Prime Minister Tony Blair, he watched the British company BP sign a commitment to invest $6 billion in a Russian oil and gas venture.

“Our priority is the step-by-step integration of Russia into the European and world economy,” Putin told the conference, stressing Russia’s desire to double its economy and attract investment in high-tech and aerospace sectors, too. Such cooperation, he said, three years into his presidency, would be “a great investment in strengthening Europe’s stability.”

Nearly 20 years on, those deals and plans lie in ruins as Western governments and companies isolate Russia over its invasion of Ukraine. BP, Shell and ExxonMobil have said they will abandon multibillion-dollar investments in energy. Banks and insurance companies worldwide are cutting transactions with Russian counterparts.

Computer chip manufacturers, shipping companies and a host of exporters are halting deliveries to Russia to comply with sanctions. Western nations are closing their skies and ports to Russian planes and vessels. European retailers are shuttering shops in Russia, and in one of the biggest blows yet, Microsoft on Friday said it is suspending all new sales in the country.

Russia’s economic integration with the outside world was never smooth and easy. Corruption and lawlessness often throttled industrial development, leaving the country too dependent on exporting its natural resources. The rigged privatization of oil and metals companies in the 1990s left an oligarchic class in charge of the economy.

Still, in the decades since the Soviet collapse, Russia’s economy struggled forward, slowly and imperfectly, forging important trade and investment ties with the outside world.

With alarming speed, the events of the past week have shattered those links.

“It took many years to become part of the world economy. Now most of this is destroyed, just flushed down the toilet in five days. And it cannot be easily undone,” said Konstantin Sonin, a Russian economist at the University of Chicago who is spending a sabbatical year in Moscow.

Seriously, Zelensky determines his own risk tolerance, that's pretty clear.

And unless Rubio is deep-deep cover, I'm pretty sure he's not trying to sabotage him.

And.... resistance begins in Russian Occupied Kherson per Washington Post:

"Pro-Ukrainian protests break out in war-torn Kherson

By Joyce Lee 9:29 a.m.

Pro-Ukrainian protesters crowded the streets of the southern city of Kherson on Saturday, chanting insults about Russian President Vladimir Putin in front of Russian soldiers.

According to eyewitness accounts, Kherson was one of the first cities to fall to Moscow’s forces, though Ukraine’s Defense Ministry has not confirmed its capture.

Multiple videos verified by The Washington Post showed demonstrators rallying on streets by the city’s state administration offices and historic Freedom Square.

A Russian soldier fired four shots into the air in an effort to disperse the protesters. It seemed to have no effect on the crowd. A block away, a man clambered on top of a moving Russian military vehicle and swung the Ukrainian flag back and forth. Other locals chanted “Go home! Go home!” at Russian soldiers.

Russian tanks entered the key port city, which sits by the Black Sea close to the Russian-annexed Crimean Peninsula, on Wednesday.

The city’s mayor posted to Facebook on Friday that Russian troops were blocking food and humanitarian aid from reaching the city. He added that the mobile connection was down and that the local television center was “hijacked
.” "
