DeWine Wasn't There is a pretty effective and forceful ad for a candidate like Brown to run.  Its actually very compelling and reminiscent of Republican tactics in the past; I don't particularly like ads like that but I enjoy seeing them being used against the GOP who started them in the first place.

Also, the DSCC ad running in Tennessee 'Silver Platter' isn't bad - but constantly attacking Corker as a rich businessman isn't a great winning strategy in a prosperous, hi-tech state like Tennessee.  Not too much anyway.  I suppose it might play well with blue collar white voters who Ford is trying to attract.

Former Rep. Bob Shamansky's new ad:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qCaycL-ZGjc

Shamansky is challenging Rep. Pat Tiberi (OH-12).

Pretty funny ad. This race is one of those off-the-radar sleepers. Bush won the district only 51%-49% in '04 and Shamansky, who first ran for this seat in 1966 (not a typo) and held it briefly from 1980-82, is spending more than $1 million of his own money on the race. Given the current climate for republicans in Ohio, Shamansky has a shot (albeit it smalll) at pulling the upset. Tiberi remains a reasonably strong favorite though. OH-18, OH-15, OH-01 and OH-02 will all flip before the 12th district would, and in that order.

Ouch, ouch, ouch...

It really blows that Sherrod Brown is going to be a member of the Senate. First there was Sanders, now him...

Holy sh*t, that was hilarious!!

Hell, you could run that ad on at least 75% of incumbent Republicans. They pretty much all have rubber stamped all of Bush/Rove/Delay's bad legislation!!

It gets the point across and was good...until I see some old guy with a bowtie pop onto the screen.

Shamansky reminds me of Ross Perot or something. Funny little old man with a bowtie.

The DSCC's new ad in Virginia isn't bad, and to be honest I'm just glad that Webb is having more money spent for him.

New Cardin ad:

http://bencardin.com/multimedia/video101106

Yes, it's an anti-Steele ad, but it certainly makes its points clearly.  And before Steele rolls out his next "See, there they go bashing me again" ad, perhaps he'd like to explain just how his convictions and potential Senate voting record differ from Bush's.  Then again, maybe they don't.

Still, I'd advise against relying too much on criticism of Bush and Steele; while that tactic is likely effective, I also think it would be helpful to emphasize Cardin's positive points as well, to help avoid criticism for over-accentuating the negative.

The ad is absolutely perfect.  The way they linked Steele's core convictions to his RNC speech.  Perfect.

You are right about one thing though.  They eventually need to make a positive case for Cardin.  He's done some pretty good things while in Congress.  An ad that features his bill to expand Medicare to include preventive benefits such as colorectal, prostate, mammogram, and osteoporosis screening was also enacted. He also has authored legislation to provide a Medicare prescription drug benefit for chronic illnesses; fund graduate medical education; and guarantee coverage for emergency service.

Bush

September Fund, their goal has been to raise about $20 million for their efforts. This ad will be aired on CNN in about a dozen congressional districts. They did a bunch of ads, tested them in suburban/exurban Philly and Columbus, and this one topped them all amongst infrequent Democratic voters and swing voters.

New Menendez Ad- "Just"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S5OMBnH_wMk

Bush-Kean linkage going on..... social security, iraq, estate tax, smear campaign...

SCRIPT FOR “JUST”

SENATOR MENENDEZ

I’m Bob Menendez and I approve this message.

NARRATOR

Tom Kean Jr.'s running a negative smear campaign. Why?

Because he doesn't want you to know he'll be another vote for the Bush agenda.

Kean Jr. supports Bush’s failed war in Iraq.

Voted twice to privatize social security, six times against stem cell research.

And he wants to eliminate taxes on inherited fortunes like his own, but voted against raising the minimum wage.

Republican Tom Kean Jr.: just another vote for Bush's agenda.

Thought I'd bump up this thread; it was buried on page five.

New Steele Ad:
http://www.steeleformaryland.com/benTVad.htm

And a candidate who took large amounts of money from the Bush administration and the national GOP is going to change Washington?  Riiiiight.

If this is the territory Steele wants to play on, then Cardin should welcome it.  I'm sure Steele has gotten cash from Big Pharma and Big Oil, not to mention the various conservative/GOP interest groups who don't give to Cardin.

New Menendez Ads:

A very touching ad:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMCUSf5-ung&eurl=

Kean stock scandal tie ad:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJbuEwR0_Js&eurl=

The second isnt so great. Could have had more impact with better scandal.

Something about that sentence doesn't seem quite right.

They should have chose a better Tom Kean Junior scandal to put in an ad.

The Steele ad is good though, it actually raises doubts in my mind about Cardin and its true enough to say that he'll 'Fit Right In' in Washington.  I don't support Steele but I think he is an inspiring candidate running an energetic campaign.

New ads from the Ohio, New Jersey and Tennessee Senate races paid for by the DSCC can be seen here.  They're all pretty good this time; Brown appeals to the middle class about education, Menendez hits Kean, Jr. hard on Iraq and Ford has a smooth ad against Corker's support for 'staying the course'.

As nearly everyone on this forum knows, I despise Bob Corker. But I must give his campaign credit when credit's due. Bob Corker's new ad, a 30 second warm spot narrated by former Senator Fred Thompson, does an excellent job of defining Corker's past and the reasons to elect him to the Senate.

I'm beginning to sense a momentum shift toward Corker. Corker has a new, more experienced campaign team in place, he recieved Ed Bryant's endorsement and he's benefiting from a massive investment from the NRSC, RNC and right-wing 527's.
