No, because that Kennedy ad is completely boring, stock, and uncreative.

Of course Santorum's ad was slanted (that's the entire point of political ads...), but it made me laugh and stuck in my head.  I don't have to support a candidate or agree with the message in the candidate's ad in order to think it's a good ad.

Wow. More desperation from Santorum. I find it hard to believe that voters will take this ad seriously. People know desperation, especially coming from Rick. They will just think back to his claim that we did find WMD's in Iraq and every other Hail Mary he has tried so far and lump this retarded ad with them.

The Santorum ads are pretty good and innovative I have to admit; Ford's comeback is excellent and gives me renewed hope about Tennessee and the Stem Cell Research and Stay the Course DSCC ads were truely brilliant and moving.

New Menendez Ad, pretty good hard hitting:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojLcACrkYfs

Also this touching ad:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMCUSf5-ung

Also :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUoP1-xnoeQ

Menendez has had far better ads then Kean. He's also actually covered his positions. No one knows where Kean stands. Menendez has also run more positive ads then negative attack ads. There hasnt been one positive ad from the Kean campaign. All have been attack ads.

The DSCC has released four hardhitting new ads, two from Virginia attacking Allen which I think they are the weakest of the four.  The Ohio one 'If you're happy and you know it clap your hands' is powerful in appealing to the economic woes of middle class voters.  Finally, the DSCC is countering the RNC's controversial attack ad on Ford with Corker's incompetence as Mayor of Chattanooga and the 911 calls.  Good to see the Democrats are fighting back:

http://www.dscc.org/index_home.html

The DSCC also has two new ads today running in Missouri.  'Values' and 'Jobs' attack Talent for voting for legislation that would send jobs overseas, with Missouri having lost 60,000 manuafacturing jobs since 2000.  The ads are solid but McCaskill's ads aren't as good as Ford's or Brown's.

Weldon's desperation ad - http://www.curtweldon.org/media/1026.cfm

And, as usual, a good ad from Schwartz (I really admire the way her people do their campaigning...when they actually campaign) and a lot of the images are just re-used from last time - http://allysonschwartz.com/

Heres a bad one.
http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=517940

"Ron Kind," the ad continues, "even spent your tax dollars to pay teenage girls to watch pornographic movies with probes connected to their genitalia. Ron Kind pays for sex but not for soldiers."

Wow. That act just summed up desperation perfectly.

"Would you give a friend the benefit of the doubt?"

I doubt most people feel the same way toward Congressmen as their friends Curt.

Then some babbling about the good Weldon's done without giving any specific examples. Then the end:

"I'm Curt Weldon. I've lived here my entire life and I approved this message."

What a cheap desperate statement.

"Coat" - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQWm7MUQhoM

If you haven't noticed by now, Santorum's ads have names that are totally unrelated to their message.

Claiming that Bob casey supports the terrorists is a bit over the top and a sign of extreme desperation.

Here in VA, George Allen is running some ads that I think are pretty effective about Webb's alleged support for using tax money to give benefits for illegal aliens. This is an issue with which the GOP can probably gain some ground, yet they haven't used it much, at least not in this state.

He is also running a couple of ads which are IMO less effective, one in which he berates his opponent for distorting his record and says "That isn't the way we do things in Virginia." Since when? Another one attacks Webb's support for the "death tax," which is of course the highly distorted term Republicans use to refer to the estate tax.

Webb's ads have been pretty pedestrian. The best ad supporting him comes from the Democratic Senatorial Committee, which accuses Allen of voting with Bush 96% of the time in the Senate. Man, when you see a Republican Senator being attacked in the state of Virginia for supporting a Republican President, and the Senator trying to distance himself from the President, you know things are bad for the Republicans.

New DSCC ads from Virginia, Arizona and New Jersey:

http://www.dscc.org/

The ad attacking Allen is quite effective - it uses newspaper quotes to condemn his record in the Senate, on Iraq, on racial issues and even attacks him as a big government spender but it essentially makes the same case against him as the other ads have: he voted 96% of the time with GWB.

The ad running in Arizona begins well with Bush endorsing Kyl but is less good than the Virginia ad; it attacks Kyl on voting with Bush 97% of the time and taking money from big oil.

Finally, the DSCC's New Jersey ad is good - attacking Tom Kean, Jr. and saying 'Bush has his eye on New Jersey'.  I think I've seen very few positive ads from the DSCC.

Four new ads from the DSCC running in Maryland, Missouri, Rhode Island and Tennessee.

The weakest of the four is Maryland; the Democrats have to do something else other than just attack Steele blandly on Iraq - I think some form of motivational ad featuring Kweisi Mfume would be good.

The Missouri ad is one of the better ones, basically playing on people's feelings about Washington politicians.

The DSCC ad in Rhode Island is different; it actually mentions keeping Roe vs. Wade as the law of the land and is a positive ad for Sheldon Whitehouse basically listing all the positive aspects of the Democrats' taking control of the Senate - a Minimum Wage Increase and changing the course in Iraq.

Finally, the Tennessee ad is effective but may be too late given the way the wind seems to be blowing there.  It restates all the negative allegations against Corker and then says: 'Chances are, he'll fit right in'. Not bad.

I visited my family up in IL-06 a few weeks ago, and they've been getting tons of mailings and phone calls, most of them negative. There was one mailing in particular called "The Duckworth Zone." Complete idiotic trash, you'd have to have gotten a lobotomy to take it seriously. Then there are multiple calls a day "calling with information about Tammy Duckworth." But then of course the ad just turns out to be a negative ploy. The GOP must be desperate to hold the seat, and is resorting to very crude tactics.

Then there was an ad on TV with Roskam wearing a thong as a teen. Sweet Christ, does any sane voter really want to see that?

The Wesley Clark ad is very effective... the vet with one arm is a bit over the top, though. But nobody accused politicians of being subtle, especially in the last days of a tough campaign.

I'm surprised at how good Clark's delivery is. He would have done better in 2004 if he'd been as good then. He must be getting some coaching.

This looks like Kennedy's last ad, and what do you expect, a bunch of right wing talking points about Iraq and taxes. Yep, that's all it is. I love how he even threw the purple finger bit in there, like that's going to make people think Iraq is going well. Not that it matters anymore of course:
