To break a filibuster for a cabinet nomination you need 51, right? Mayorkas had Republican votes in the committee, so that shouldn't be a problem. I see no reason for his confirmation to go beyond this week.

I can't imagine any democrat has the stomach to torpedo one of Biden's nominees. Unless something really damaging comes out about Tanden(other than she's a twitter bully), she'll be confirmed.

That's a ridiculous take. Multiple important committees are unable to meet due to lacking chairs. We're not going two years without a Budget or HELP committee.
