Who will be the easiest to be confirmed ?

Who will have the toughest road ahead ?

I guess hearings will start after WarnOff get sworn in as new GA Senators late next week or around the time Biden/Harris are sworn in.

I imagine most if not all of his cabinet picks will get confirmed

I could see Tanden run into issues from the right(democrats) and maybe Vilsack and Raimondo run into issues from the left( Sanders, Warren, Merkley maybe).

I also imagine Austin and McDonough being underwhelming picks but being confirmed none the less

Tanden is infinitely more likely to run into issue with progressives than with moderates, given her prior conduct.

Does Raimondo have any friends in the GOP?

Also, I’d like to see Klobuchar and Warren knife Petie’s political career, but they probably won’t.

Tanden is probably one of the more progressive picks by Biden, otherwise he would go with some other underwhelming pick. I don't particularly see Sanders as the type of person to hold a grudge and I don't think most Democrats will want to sabotage an incoming democratic administration early on

Remember most senate democrats are not Berniebros or TYT listeners, the same way most senate republicans are not Alex Jones/Breitbart watchers and readers

Luckily for her, we're talking about the Senate and not progressives.

Yeah, it's gonna be pretty funny when Rose Twitter loses its mind after Sanders votes for her.

I met Lloyd Austin in 2013. Shook his hand. Trembled at his immense height. He’ll easily be confirmed. Or else.

We've had 8 years of black Secretary of States and also HUD out of the 12 years of Republican Presidents this century.

I see Biden has yet to name a CIA director. Well, [straightens non-existent tie] if I may put my name in the running, I think Joe and I could work together to make a big, beautiful, Crumpets Intelligence Agency. You know where to reach me.

All Cabinet members have now been announced by Biden (today: CIA director).

Senate Hearing for Austin has been scheduled for Jan. 19th: https://www.armed-services.senate.gov/hearings/21-01-19-nomination

But he's also expected to need a House hearing, as he'll require a waiver to be signed into law before he can be confirmed since he hasn't been out of the military long enough.

I know someone who has spent a bit of time under Austin’s command. Austin’s favorite thing to do in the Army was lead a division. That’s all I have to add.

Confirmation hearing for Biden Treasury pick Yellen expected next Tuesday

Quote
The Senate Finance Committee is expected to hold a confirmation hearing for Janet Yellen, President-elect Joe Biden's nominee for Treasury secretary, next Tuesday, a Senate source told The Hill.

The planned hearing date is one day before Biden's inauguration.

If confirmed, Yellen is expected to play a key role in the new administration's response to the coronavirus-related economic downturn. Yellen, a former chair of the Federal Reserve, would also be the first woman to serve as Treasury secretary.

Hopefully the House sends the impeachment over to the Senate soon so that this dumpster fire of a cabinet can be held up.

I’m also looking forward to their reaction when he votes to confirm Buttigieg.
