I've begun reading this article in more depth, and what Trump said about John McCain is absolutely horrific, and reveals the extent to which he hated him, and for no good reason at all! This makes me understand even further why the McCain family is supporting Joe Biden. God bless McCain's 108-year old mother, as I hope that the family is keeping any news of this from her. The day the Access Hollywood tape was released, it seemed like it was certainly the last nail in Trump's coffin. Basically everyone across the political spectrum was highly critical of him, calling on him to drop out ... until people moved on. Over the next few weeks, people got back on the Trump train, and the only people who cared by Election Day were people who were already voting Hillary.

Is this "losers" and "suckers" scandal going to go the same way? Something that will be a huge, catastrophic story for a few days but then no one will care by November 3?

The Access Hollywood tape had a pretty profound effect that was overshadowed by later developments. This story might not have an effect at all.

It's definitely one of the worst things he said, but the GOP doesn't even play at the "distancing themselves from his offensive remarks" game any more.
