Jake Paul is absolutely representative of the majority of looters: assholes who don't care.

https://thehill.com/homenews/sunday-talk-shows/500294-former-minnesota-senator-slams-minneapolis-area-mayors-after

Quote
Former Sen. Norm Coleman (R-Minn.) slammed Minneapolis-area mayors following protests that erupted over the police-involved death of George Floyd, saying the leaders are "almost invisible."

Coleman said in an interview aired Sunday on John Catsimatidis's radio show that Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey's (D) call for police to abandon the city's third precinct police station was "stunning."

"We've got two mayors that have been relatively silent and absent without leave in this process," he added.

CNN apparently running looting footage on a loop all day.

Meanwhile, peaceful protest is happening now. Before any police or nat. guard intervention.

Provocation and inciting violence are a delicate balance, I’d tread carefully here.

Peaceful protests are not interesting news to report on. They can report on it, but no one would tune in. We are only tuned in due to worry about the imminent danger

I hope looters and rioters get doxxed so people know where to loot along with the people enabling them and justifying looting.

This thread in a nutshell. And back-to-back posts, no less.

Again, "A tale of two perspectives".
How is two persectives when many of the posters here and cacknowledging and condemning both of these things? This isn't a thread full of libs attacking police defending looters and conservatives attacking looters defenfing cops. No need to stir the pot when it's on a low simmer.

It paints a wrong picture of the protests though. It’s manufacturing people’s opinions without presenting the whole truth.

No one cares about the protests. We can just ignore it and roll our eyes when we come across it.

If you think no one cares about the peaceful protests, why would you be remotely surprised by riots?

Who says I'm surprised by riots? I just think they need to be completely quashed with immediate force.

My facebook feed is a reality show right now.

Both Ferguson and Salt Lake City went insane last night.

And there is even a gofundme page to support the criminals arrested in Salt Lake City which now has double its intended goal amount raised? What? Why are we defending looters, arsonists, and criminals?

And yes they are criminals even if they are white.

This is the left's charlottesville. defending what should be indefensible because to them "we don't want to attack people on our side". The crimson avatars only changed their opinions today because they realized the optics looked bad and nobody brought the "looting is justified for the reason of el revoluccion and police brutality " , not because they don't actually approve of looting and rioting.

Well they aren't convicted yet and most people do deserve bail?
However one thing I will say is I thought most of the people arrested are white supremacists so why is the left donating to bail for white supremacists or outside agitators(who are at severe risk of fleeing the area)

We are a nation in pain, but we must not allow this pain to destroy us. We are a nation enraged, but we cannot allow our rage to consume us. We are a nation exhausted, but we will not allow our exhaustion to defeat us.
The only way to bear this pain is to turn all that anguish to purpose. And as President, I will help lead this conversation — and more importantly, I will listen, just as I did today visiting the site of last night's protests in Wilmington.

This is not remotely comparable to Charlottesville.
It's rather disgraceful to compare the murder of Heather Heyer to broken windows in Philly.

If you want to talk about the actual people themselves and their goals?
Yeah obviously most people protesting are not even close to the average Charlottesville Nazi. They are mostly normal Americans.
However have you seen how many people have died?
There was a ing molotov cocktail thrown at 4 policemen, the outcome of these riots have been much much worse.

Political separatism is a much different goal (and actually a goal unlike any real interpretation of this senseless looting even if that is a less charitable interpretation). I can't say I support everything the IRA has done, but I'd say a perpetual war for self governance is, you know, an actual mission and one that I radically support for my Catholic brethren.

If you want to actually be fair and compare cause with cause and exclude extremist elements (which is what someone would mean when they similarly say they are pro-BLM), then it is quite obviously possible to support one cause and not the other. Even more so because they are in different countries! (Like people who love Modi and hate Trump.)

Anyone think these riots will continue through the summer? If Trump plays his cards right this could be his golden ticket to reelection.

People losing their livelihoods, likelihood that business leaves areas affected which makes poorer people poorer. One person dying from trying to loot a fedex truck and the truck driver steps on the peddle for his life while looters around him were banging on his door.  Im sure the people downplaying looting SOMEHOW thinks the government will step in and rebuild and give green new deals to people who lost their jobs because their insanely naive.
