Let the Right One In

Meh. Kind of boring.

Side note: Why are all these non-artsy people going to Benjamin Button? My parents went to it on Christmas too. It seemed like it was aimed at only hipsters, movie critics and "intellectuals".

Sorry, but movies starring Brad Pitt are never aimed at hipsters, movie critics and intellectuals. Tongue

Believe it or not, Reefer Madness.  Not standard Christmas Eve fare...and it was AWFUL.  Horrible.

Of course it was awful. That's what makes it so great.

Frost/Nixon.  My first stab at this season's Very. Serious. Movies.  Quite good, but it did not in any way, shape, or form deserve its R rating.  (There's one use of the term "Motherer")

Go see it.

Revolutionary Road

I feel kind of mixed about it, but ultimately I have a positive opinion.

Frost/Nixon.

This was an interesting one. Not a total hit piece on Nixon (Not that any sane would expect it to be, but many conservatives jumped to the conclusion it was). A lot more going on than you would expect. The only thing bugged me was the pseudo-documentary commentary from some of the characters like they were being interviewed by the news, yes its a docu-drama, but they're still actors just playing characters.

I agree with you. That was not needed.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

It really wasn't all that amazing. I kinda don't understand all the hype it keeps getting.

Hamlet 2.

Kind of hit and miss. More often hilarious than it was stupid, but there was a still a fair amount of the latter.

Valkyrie.

Tom Cruise is too American to play a German properly, and the actor playing Hitler was rather cartoony. They also should have fleshed out Stauffenberg's and the other plotters' politics and motivations more. However, the movie was pretty well done, and certainly never boring, and the end was moving, it was just no triumph.

The Corporation.

Wow, absolutely fantastic. This documentary does a better job of making its point than any I've ever seen and does an excellent job of making even its occasionally dry subject matter interesting and compelling.

Insultingly stupid, and this is from an anti-religious.

La Cage aux Folles 2 and La Cage aux Folles 3. Not as good as the original, but still hilarious stuff and miles better than most of today's sh**t. Charlier is great, and Albin/Zaza is absolutely hilarious.
