What happens if Sanders wins both TX and CA? Who is the front-runner?
Depends on the margin.

So I’m going to admit as a Bernie supporter that tonight is sobering; all I’m going to say is that while I accept Biden is looking inevitable, he ignores the millions of progressives who voted for Sanders & Warren (as Hillary did) at his own peril. If he treats us like Hillary did, he deserves to lose. Biden must choose a strong progressive VP.

Kamala?

Hahahaha good one, tell another
Who is good enough for you guys? Seriously, give me a name.
My issue is trust, I cannot trust Biden to pass anything of note. Likewise for Harris, I'm not even really that left wing but we've been defeated so many times because of a lack of conviction that it's honestly depressing. We give them our votes and they back down and start negotiations.

looks like Virginia may end up having bigger turnout than North Carolina.
And Virginia has 2 million fewer people than North Carolina! That shows just how blue Virginia has trended in recent years.

I'd say Biden for now.  Even if he loses TX and CA it likely won't be by large enough margins to surpass the delegate lead Biden has likely gained from his wins today.  I also bet Bloomberg gets out of the race soon, and Biden is riding a powerful narrative wave at the moment that brings with it tons of free media.

His opinion doesn't reflect those of all of us Biden supporters. In the end, we're all dedicated to defeating Donald Trump, and if Bernie was nominated most of us (including me) would back him unequivocally. Hopefully, y'all will do the same. Unlike the Trumpist GOP, we have room for ideological differentiation.

I'm staunchly anti-Biden but I hardly think Grassroots should even be validated by being counted as a Biden supporter in how he acts given he's a Trumpist and admitted nationalist.

Hey, the Democrats put country (nationalism) over marxism (internationalism) tonight. Plenty of Democrats believe its smart to prioritize our country first.
As much as reich-wingers may want to spin this as Democrats rejecting soshuhlizm or whatever, that's not what has happened. Exit pollsters straight-up asked people whether or not they had favorable views of socialism, and astonishingly high numbers answered in the affirmative.

Biden's weakness with Hispanic voters could be a big problem in the general election esp. in a state like Nevada.

what are the chances that Warren and Bloomberg drop out in the coming days?

The interesting thing is that we kept hearing about a contested convention, but right now the delegates are being pretty much split between two people because nobody's really making the 15% threshold anywhere.  Though I expect that to change in California.

She isn't even competing in MA, the only hope she has is if Bernie and Biden die and even then

Warren should have dropped out after NH, but her staying in just shows how horrific her political insticts are.

I doubt Bloomberg is going to keep spending barrels of money, he'll get out now that Bernie is on the ropes.

Warren is smart to stay in.  She has the money to keep her campaign afloat for a while yet and there's still a real possibility of a contested convention where she may be able to extract some policy/personnel concessions from the eventual nominee.  What's the harm in staying in?

She has turned herself into a complete nonfactor. Not a good look to finish third in your home state.

Look at Amy and Pete, they went out with dignity.

Great, and what does that get them besides a bit of good will?  Meanwhile, Warren is picking up delegates here and there.  Not a lot, but enough to potentially have some influence if a contested convention actually happens.  That's leverage, and I'll take leverage over dignity any day.

Sanders supporters have every right to be upset right now. There is no need to antagonize them. Not only do we need them in the GE, but they are feeling the same way we thought we were going to feel until just 4 or 5 days ago. Let’s not be hypocritical or arrogant
That's exactly what a lot of national dems like Carville are doing tonight though which goes back to my main point about the democrats in 2020 which is I don't see the party uniting to high enough degree to win.

You wouldn't see the Democrat winning in November if Jesus Christ, Ronald Reagan, and FDR all came back to life tomorrow and jointly endorsed him.

The Dem arent the Tea party and Establishment in the GOP party. Remember Perry cost Romney a victory against Obama, based on Tea party not coming together over Romney hiring an illegal alien. Trump beat a scandalous first lady Hilary, we have never had a female Prez

This. Even Texas has a majority of Dem voters saying they viewed socialism favorably. A plurality of Tennessee. Even if the Democratic Party resists kicking and screaming this is the future of the party.

Depends on the margin.

Yeah.  He'd need a huge margin I think.  The problem is that this is mostly off early voting.  Now the Bloomberg vote will switch to Biden.  Plus Bernie is losing states like Massachusetts and Minnesota, so it's hard to see where he picks up huge blocks of delegates going forward.  California is already in the bank.  A lot of the remaining big states are more friendly territory for Biden... e.g., Georgia, Pennsylvania, Florida.  New York is a bit of a wild card but I think Biden wins that too.

It seems like these long lines are concentrated in college areas.  What gives with this?  This is really disenfranchising people at this point.  People don't want to wait 3 hours to vote and shouldn't have to.

I'm guessing it's partly because college students are more variable in participation rates from one election to the next, so the precincts might not be used to handling as many people.

Hey Atlas progressives, as an uncompromising neoliberal and establishment shill, do not lose all hope. Tonight has shown that America has overwhelmingly rejected Bernie Sanders as a human nobody likes, and that Ameroca is not willing to accept uncompromising, divisive, socialist radicals woth a savior mentality. Next time instead of going for a purist star, go for a progressive (not socialist) workhorse with strong policy as well as strong rhetoric. There are plenty of choices. But you will lose if you go as left as Sanders (focus on builind a winning coalition around a few key issues) and embrace the unifying Buttigeig approach to politics instead of the losing Sanders strategy. Best wishes, even though I hope you keep losing.

What's the worst is the last sentence, the fact that you and people like you never want progressives to win. A Moderate only party is such a gross thought.
Obviously I want to win. Doesn't mean I won't support progressives against Republicans, but I naturally prefer that my agenda wins out. America has overwhelmingly chosen Biden style politics tonight, and if you're going to win, you need to find a new path forward. I would prefer to win, of course, but that doesn't mean you can't learn from your competition. Who knows...with a better approach, you might win us over.
