Which counties still have precincts left to report??? All of them say 100% in, which makes no sense if only 62% are reported statewide.

- wait, apparently there are more votes left to report in places like Black Hawk County (college town), so that could boost Bernie potentially
Yeah, I saw that on the CNN map as well. I guess it's not only the IDP having errors today....

Sanders is winning Iowa! SDEs that were miscalculated in many precincts are irrelevant. The people have spoken, and they have chosen Bernie Sanders. Onwards to New Hampshire!

Does anyone have results from first and final alignments instead of the dumb SDE counts?

Sanders is winning, but in true American form, the popular vote loser is winning

It's actually kind of European form because if it wasn't for a 2nd option Bernie would be leading.

Polk, Story and Scott are biggest remaining votes left. It could go to Sanders if he wins Polk

Buttigieg and Sanders are very close in Polk right now, so it's unlikely to make much difference.
depends which precincts remain though. if urban, then it helps sanders; suburban helps buttigieg

Indeed. Sanders has no path now. Biden is basically inevitable.

You guys who speak like this are way overreacting. lol Sanders is going to get about as many delegates as Buttigieg. He's no further behind Buttigieg than a week ago. You could literally say Sanders is leading all candidates.

That's not what the narrative is going to be, is it?

National delegates only come from SDEs. CNN and MSNBC are only talking about the SDEs. SDEs are all that really matter.

I don't think much momentum will be had from Iowa. There was the whole debacle and Pete Buttigieg didn't really do that well so far, he just gained around double the other candidates in realignment, which most states don't have. This race is wide open.

If Sanders were leading SDEs and Buttigieg was leading PV they’d be talking about PV, so that really shouldn’t be taken into account.

Peak Atlas to declare Pete the winner with huge numbers of delegates remaining in Des Moines and other urban centers where Bernie appears to be winning...

www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/02/04/us/elections/results-iowa-caucus.html

The New York Times results page has the listed precincts reporting out of total for each county. A handful of the smallest counties are fully reporting, but there seems to be a decent spread of where is left to call.

If Buttigieg holds on to this lead, then he can fundraise and energize his supporters off of this. Nothing is as campaign boosting as defying polling and being a surprise winner.

As I told you last night:

Yeah, Sanders isn't going to win this.

We get it, you don't think he'll win. You don't have to repeat it on every page

Outstanding precincts in counties won (SDEs) by...

Sanders - 259
Buttigieg - 247
Klobuchar - 24
Biden - 18
Warren - 0

Until we know specifically where the outstanding precincts are in each county. I would advise getting too excited about this. For all we know the outstanding results could flip Polk to Buttigieg if they come from more of the suburban areas.

A lot of the election gurus on here who are professional class and highly educated (gass for example) have a weird aversion to Bernie

Except PV has never mattered in Iowa and never will until they scrap the caucus system.

I wonder if there will be any Buttigieg bounce or if people have moved on from Iowa already.
