What is the electoral system? Is it like in Spain or there are separate elections for mayors and councils?

No, you get 3 ballots: One to elect councillors and the mayor; Another to elect members of the Municipal Assembly (the local "Parliament"; and a last one to elect parish assembly members, the tiniest local government authority.

Acording to RTP, PSD is on track to gain Portalegre city from an Independent, but could lose Guarda, also to an Independent.

PSD hold Faro with absolute majority.

Évora is currently a 3 way race: 27% CDU; 24% PS; 20% PSD/CDS

PSD holds Viseu. Fernando Ruas is back.

It's now official, PSD has lost Guarda to an Independent (a PSD dissident).

With 50% counted PS has 42% in Coimbra against 36% for the PSD-led list, let's see if it changes to match the exit poll

Nothing yet from the urban area of the muncipality, which trends PSD even in bad elections for the party.

The PSD is performing really well in the Alentejo region, especially in Évora district. They won 4 cities. They had zero in 2017.

Yes, but it's still surprising. And last time they had Ventura.. this time I have no idea who was the candidate.

It's official. PSD gains Portalegre from an Independent. Évora, RTP is projecting, is a CDU hold.

My hometown, Póvoa de Varzim, was a PSD hold, but they dropped quite a bit. CHEGA got 5.5%. PS also grew 3%, to 22%.

Santana Lopes is now speaking. Figueira hasn't been called yet, the urban area of Figueira is still out. With that yet to be counted, PS leads Santana 40-38%, so far.

The PS has lost the majority of municipalities in the Azores: 9 vs the 9 of the PSD/CDS coalitions. 1 town went to an Independent supported by the PSD.

In Madeira, the local PS leader, Paulo Cafôfo, resigned from the party leadership.
