Which one is more neocon or Libertarian?

Is it really relevant what a governor thinks of foreign policy?

I hate economic populists like Edwards who is by the way a puppet of trial lawyers and big unions bosses, so I would vote Rispone

I tend to try to support governors of either party who have done a good job in their re-election bids .

Quote
Upon assuming office, Edwards inherited a $2 billion deficit from his predecessor, Governor Bobby Jindal. As a result, stabilizing Louisiana's budget was a top priority for the Edwards Administration. Edwards prides himself upon reversing the economic downfall he inherited, as the state under his governorship achieved record-high GDP, record-high personal income, low unemployment, and one of the highest economic growth rates in the country.

Doing that in a state like LA is pretty impressive

Ah, so someone is only a puppet of the charter school industrial complex and big business/multinational corporations with subsidies for such folks is obviously better than the guy who pulled LA back from the brink, expands healthcare to tens of thousands (cutting the uninsured rate in half), and supports civil liberties for LGBTQ+ persons.

But yeah, let's put the self-funded multi-millionaire in office because the other guy's a puppet Roll Eyes

Politicians love to take all the credit for a good economy and it seems Edwards is no exception. The LA economy is doing better than in 2015 but that’s due to factors for which Edwards doesn’t deserve any credit.
-a rowing national economy which is lifting all boats
-a rising oil production which is giving a boost to LA treasury coffers
-low interest rates
-the return of some people (=taxpayers) who left LA after Katrina hurricane

Well, the national economy grew when Jindal was Governor too.

Oil production is not growing in Louisiana because it doesn't have any oil fields that are prime for fracking

The Permian in West Texas and the Baaken in ND are where the action is really at.

https://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/hist/LeafHandler.ashx?n=PET&s=MCRFPTX1&f=M

https://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/hist/LeafHandler.ashx?n=PET&s=MCRFPND1&f=M

Louisiana has had some benefits from the NG industry as some export facilities have been built here, but again not much to get excited over.

Low interest rates? Well again they were low when Booby was gov too.

I'm sure that 90-95% of the people who returned after Katrina has done so by 2015.

What Edwards did that Booby or teh Republicans wouldn't.

--Expand Medicare
--Funded TOPS and gave teachers a pay raise
--Prison reform, turns out not locking up Marijuana smokers saves some big bucks
--Make honest budget choices that reversed the deficit and improved LA debt rating.

All Rispone can do is drool and say "Trump!" which since, Louisiana has many dumb, bigoted white people is good enough for many of them.  But there's nothing he can do as Gov.
