This is fun:

Not surprised at all by the result. But that margin though!

If Dems control Governor and both branches of the legislature, will there be the consequences for  Virginia's congressional races and a map re-draw? Would Dems be able to pick up additional seats, solidify the ones they have, or did I miss something and the maps have already been taken care of?

Looks like the Virginia SBE is having a bit of a meltdown rn. up of massive proportions in result reporting.

Depends on if they concede  to the GOPs fair district bill, which would set of a NJ-style commission. Doubt they do that considering how much cash they poured into flipping the chamber with the goal of getting control of redistricting.

No I don't think the maps have already been decided or a commission set up so theoretically they could and they would probably have a lot of opportunity to given the fact that all the Northern Virginia districts are way too populated now so they could probably combine two of the rural southwest districts together largely and give the extra district to NoVa centered around Loudon county.

Looking like the Democrats are sucking in the Hampton Roads/VA Beach areas, but Richmond/NOVA will give them slim majorities.

Hampton Roads already gave them three flips, but you can thank the redraw for that.

This is fun:

And if I remember Democrats just did an outright wimpy job pushing the count of provisional votes. It was pathetic to see them give up the majority on a coin toss because they were too concerned about holding hands and singing Kumbaya with party run by Corey Stewart and Charlottesville Neo-Nazi Marchers at its core

The blue-ing of Virginia is complete. Such an incredible shift in the political landscape there over the last 12 or so years.

looking at the precinct returns from Fairfax, it's clear that the most educated (and in most cases wealthiest) parts are just voting straight democrat for everything, even things like school board which arguably are bad for them.

They would vote for Pol Pot vs Charlie Baker.

Senate - 10, 12, 13 all flipped,  7 on the bubble,  8 not reported enough yet.   All dem incumbents won.

House -  Looks like four flips so far, but there's still a lot left to report.  Republicans might flip HD-85.

Is this because of the # mix-up and VA gets more Dem as night progresses? What type of end result are we looking at here?

Yes Senate, not quite in the House but things would really have to change dramatically not to have a tiny Dem majority there.
