If it weren't for the fact that the identity politics wing of the base would be bitter and salty over it, I think O'Rourke/Buttigieg or Buttigieg/O'Rourke would make a superb ticket.
Please stop perpetuating this awful term created to silence the opinions of historically marginalized groups. All politics revolve around identity.

You are, pound for pound, the most ridiculous poster on this site. People criticize identity politics because, when taken to its logical conclusion, it argues that people's political opinions should be determined at birth. If your immutable characteristics-- race, gender, sexual orientation, ethnic/national background-- are the prime motive behind your politics, you are effectively surrendering your agency as a decision-making individual to random circumstance and the situation of your birth. It completely devalues a person's ability to decide things for themselves. So please stop perpetuating this awful worldview created to constrain the ability of free-thinking people to make choices for themselves. All politics should revolve around ideas, not identity.

That's not true.

I want to vote for Beto because of his musical taste and career. I also want to vote for Mayor Pete because he's becoming the candidate of hipster Christians.

That would be identity politics, but my musical taste and religious tradition are my choices, not set at birth.

Yea taking money from lobbyists and attending secret anti-Bernie meetings with top neoliberal Democrats. This snobby elitist doesn't have what it really takes to win in November.

He ignored working class people trying to survive in one of the wealthiest and most elitist parts of the world so he could hide in the metaphorical Ivory Tower and schmooze with elitist academics.

What is the back story behind the Smollett question Pete "didn't take the bait" on?

"Social Justice Warrior" didn't start out as a "right-wing pejorative." Many on the left have self-identified as that for years.

People looked @ the tape controversy. Apart from the racist language thing & firing of the Black cop, Pete also fired most of the remaining black officers.

His appeal is primarily rich white people. Even Warren is going to win the Black vote over him.

Honestly I don’t either. He’s not as policy oriented as Warren or as charismatic as Beto.

What is the back story behind the Smollett question Pete "didn't take the bait" on?

Probably because it's such a ridiculous assertion in the first place and he didn't want to give that sort of rhetoric any more attention.

Atlas CRUCIFIED Harris for doing something much minor than this FYI-
Mayor Pete was Atlas's chosen one but he's doing everything they hate. LOL.

But Kamala is a corporate shill and Beto is an empty suit. Roll Eyes

All three mentioned in your post are my top three candidates, so I don't really know how I would factor in this characterization.

Seriously though, he's all media hype. Sure he can speak 13 languages, he's gay, and he and his husband are cute, but how does that make him a better candidate than Warren and Harris? What are his policy proposals? It seems to me he's just winging this entire election. Sure he has some witty attacks against Pence on homosexuality and christianity, but that's it. How is that going to defeat Trump?

We can only hope his momentum dies soon before the Democratic electorate is actually stupid enough to give him the nomination.

He's white and male. That seems more important to a lot of people.

In the case of Beto, he's clearly moreso.
