I’m not going to believe anything here unless Rogue Beaver posts it.

Is anyone really conjuring images in their head of the VP candidate driving up to Delaware and stepping out onto that stage and not picturing Harris? She seems to be the operating assumption, and at this point, my brain can’t really picture anyone else.

I refuse to believe it'll be Rice, to the point that I created a PredictIt account to bet no on her

CNN just said that he's announcing during a fundraiser he's having with his VP pick & that it's gonna be today. Who's having a Biden fundraiser today other than Warren? There wouldn't be 2 different Biden fundraisers on the same day, would there?

"Imminent" certainly seems sooner than "soon" on the Biden timescale

I feel like if he only just revealed the choice to top advisors *this morning*, then it's still going to be awhile before the announcement is made public.  My hunch is either late-ish tonight or (maybe more likely?) tomorrow.  I'm not totally sure on this, but I would guess that filling in his top advisors is something that would happen *before* he actually calls his choice to make the offer formally, as well as calling the shortlisters he's not picking to tell them that he went with someone else.  Once he makes those phone calls, there's a chance of a leak, and so why would he start doing that before even his top advisors are brought in the loop?

And then, once that's done, it seems like it would take more than just a couple of hours for Biden's campaign and the VP pick to prep the public announcement, and feel like they're all set for the media rollout, no?

True, but it's also possible they narrowed it down to like 2 people and the NYT article said they already created roll out plans for the "finalists", so it's possible they knew which way it was going to prepare.

No, but I also don't think they would openly say that, knowing that Warren is the only one with a fundraiser. That would completely give it away. I also feel like he won't be announcing it during a *fundraiser* though. Then what would the ballroom be for?

This has been an exciting rollout. Kudos to Biden's team for resisting the pressure to announce early.

Last thoughts:

1. Bass: I truly thought she would get it, but I think her chances are pretty much sunk, by a thousand cuts.

2. Harris: I like her, a lot, but I worry about her ability to manage staff because of her presidential campaign. She could grow into the role, but I'd rather she not have to. She is my pick, sure, but I'm not without concerns.

3. Rice: would be my pick if we were guaranteed to win.

4. Duckworth, Baldwin: perfect for any other year.

5. Whitmer: why? Like her, but why?

6. Warren: no, please.

7. Bottoms: fine, but Kemp is going to hit Atlanta as hard as possible to muddy the conversation.

8. MLG: okay.

9. Abrams: I'm a left winger and I appreciate Ayn Rand for unorthodox and highly abstract reasons, just like Stacy Abrams. I don't think this is the time for one of us.

Right. If anything, the ballroom makes me think it isn't her.
