Looks like Biden could once again end up sharing a ticket with a minority 4-year senator from Illinois, who lived in Hawaii and Southeast Asia, and would be the target of birtherism.

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/11/29/us/politics/kamala-harris-2020.html

https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2019/12/the-self-sabotaging-of-kamala-harris

This isn't on the candidate? I am sorry but at this level of government you need the leadership skills and if you lack them as Kamala did, it's no ones fault but her own. She made the hiring decisions, she had the right to overrule her advisors on her message and strategy and didn't.

If you think the Biden vetting team won't be thinking about this, you're out of your mind.

You have a weird obsession with her.

That seems like an unfair characterization.  She is a leading candidate to be VP, after all.
This is also quite literally a thread to do with possible VP selections. Keeping track of vetting is what this thread is supposed to be about. This dude is reaching.

It's also projection.  When someone debunks your constant promoting of a certain candidate, turn it around on them and say they're obsessed with that candidate.

Warren is already Executive Chair of the Biden campaign and is around same age as Jill Biden,  I do think she will get it.

It will either be Warren or GRISHAM

Neither is really a natural politician but Rice would be a mistake. There is just no need to relitigate Benghazi in 2020 and Trump will talk about that and Hillary's emails.

I just don't think Harris, Rice have a life story that will connect well with a wide array of voters. Warren could have had that but her wonky plans being emphasized over her biography blunted that.

I get the feeling that she is trying to outflank Harris on the BLM front here, but flubbed it like dave mentioned because of a lack connectivity between her and the desires of those on the ground.

Harris have reportedly denied wanting to be Veep, it's like a broken record and it's the media fault too, obsessed with Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey

Grisham is the perfect Veep, that is a Latina from NM

Might just be my bias, but she never really said she was "open" to taking down the statues. She basically said we need to hear the argument and listen, which isn't terribly different than things Biden has said about understanding the motivations of the protesters.

Duckworth clarifies her position as a hard no on taking down statues of founders, says it isn't a discussion.

I don’t see what’s wrong with her answer either. I mean, listening to the argument is not necessarily an indication that the argument is good or correct. She seems a lot more focused on the fact that the President has an affinity for CONFEDERATE monuments all in the midst of a pandemic that is presently killing Americans. I think she could’ve phrased it better, but this is far from the most offensive possible answer.

It wasn’t a great interview but shouldn’t be a dealbreaker. No one can question her patriotism if she’s selected. I just think someone like Rice is too much part of the establishment to average Americans. As are Warren and Harris

I think the key is to keep pushing back against Republican attempts to conflate Confederate leaders with the Founders. The right is trying to hide its own racism and anti-Americanism behind the contradictions of people like Washington and Jefferson.

How is Warren more part of the establishment than a fairly mainstream democrat like Duckworth?

She's not, but being a white-collar professor leaves one more vulnerable to that sort of criticism than veteran status.

You're starting to become very, very annoying. Please, can you just not mention Kamala Harris at all until Joe makes his decision? Can you do that for the sake of everyone?

I feel like you could also take that advice.
