Other than the lingering impact of the three-year-long "Kamala is a cop" smear campaign launched against her by the Sanders wing, Harris is the perfect candidate on paper.  And right now is a perfect opportunity for her to cover that weakness.

Thanks Obama Sanders

And I found her overrated/overhyped before she was even a Senator, let alone primary candidate
Did you vote in the Senate election in 2016? If so, did you vote for Loretta Sanchez?

I did vote in 2016 & I did vote for Harris.

I distinctly remember the debate they had where Harris sleepwalked through it while Sanchez flossed. Sanchez never seemed to take that race seriously enough

My favorite part was when Sanchez did a dab during the Senate debate.  It was like what the hell, lol.
LOL, that was national news. Even here in New York, I heard about that and saw the video. It was very cringey.

A friend of mine pointed out today that Mia Love was a very moderate member of the House. Picking her would give Biden bipartisan appeal, and she is young and from an important swing state. I don't see why she isn't on the shortlist? What gives?

Biden should pick Harris. She’s got the name recognition now and she’s exactly what he needs to counter any and all diversity questions. She would have a high national profile and honestly having someone who we all know doesn’t want to defund police wouldn’t be a negative in a general election.

Plus, frankly, if he does run for another term he needs Kamala on the ticket now to avoid a primary challenge. If he picks Warren then it’ll be pretty easy to challenge him from a diversity perspective in 2024, plus he will be super old. No one can really challenge him in 2024 if he picks Kamala though and she becomes his groomed successor. Plus, he will energize minority voters, which are the single most important ones to energize this year for Biden. Minority voters are heavily represented in the sun belt and the rust belt, and those are the important states this year.

And to all Kamala Admirers: Let's face it...if she doesn't get pick for VP her Political Career is OVAH. She has no Accomplishments to run on for 2024. Vice President is her last hope to get something out of her career otherwise IMO she is tremendously overrated to me.

Failing to become the nominee for president in one cycle hasn't stopped politicians before (example: literally Joe Biden). Not to say she will, but losing out this year doesn't really close the book for good.
That's true what you say BUT on what Accomplishments will Harris run again if she doesn't get picked for Veep? Tell us! She hasn't crafted or co-sponsored any big Legislation since being elected to the Senate. Just running to become the first African-American Woman POTUS won't do the trick if you can't run on some things you have accomplished!

Well, the next election isn't until 2024. I'm guessing primary candidates will be announcing for the 2024 nomination around this time in 2023. That's three whole years for a high-profile, clearly ambitious senator to make her mark, especially if there is a Democratic president and/or Senate.

One big reason to pick Harris is that it would open up a Senate seat in California and there are about a million talented California Democrats waiting for a chance to get promoted.

I like her but she'd be a pretty bad running mate

Gillibrand actually would be a good pick, race aside, and I'd back her as VP.

There is absolutely no reason Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick shouldn't be the VP.

Credit where credit is due - Harris is out there hustling all over the place to show she's working this issue. She's been all over TV the past 2 weeks.

About as much sway as Double Dragon had at the box office.

But, Tender told me that Val Demings was the African American who was the one to be chosen to be the nominee for Veep.

Harris is another Valerie Jarrett and Susan Rice, she will be better than Pence, but by no means will shake up the status quo and put African Americans on board and CEOs of jobs that Bernie said needs to happen. That's why Harris hasnt dine much for the homeless in SF and LA in her own state of Cali

It appears the TV appearances and Press avails are working - POLITICO reports that Harris's favorabilities have increased among Democrats recently

Hey! That movie is an underrated gem when it comes to ironic enjoyment of schlocky films!
