Yes. I am strongly against gun control and this is not a controversial position among Marxists. Why would I be in favour of disarming the populace? Why would I be in favour of background checks, which are done by the state, when I want the workers armed against the state?
LOL, what a phony socialist.

And I'm supposed to heed the opinion of who is and is not a socialist from someone who calls themselves a "proud liberal Democrat"? Lol
Yawn. Still a phony socialist.

Malcolm X and Huey Newton weren't socialists. Also, Marx was a communist not a socialist.

Anyways, I didn't say that citizens shouldn't be able to own guns. However, having a "well armed" population is a disaster waiting to happen in a socialist country.

No real socialist should support having a "well armed" population. Imagine if the Soviet Union, Cuba, Vietnam, Venezuela, China had a well armed population. Those governments would have been overthrown very quickly or there would be almost constant clashes between the government and civilians.

As I asked in the original thread - which Marxists works have you actually read? Huey Newton and Malcolm X were literally both Marxists. Communism is simply the stage after the intermediary phase of Socialism, wherein the transition away from Capitalism to Communism is achieved through the dictatorship of the proletariat, which is basically seizing and transferring the means of production from the bourgeoise to the proletariat. So, calling Marx a Communist instead of a Socialist or Socialist instead of a Communist hardly makes sense from the standpoint of Marx’s theory.

Again, you don’t have a clue what you’re talking about.

Most Democrats who are currently running for President or exploring a run expressed an opinion on free trade in 2016, about Obama's major achievement of the TPP. Let's see what they said.

Bernie Sanders: The anti-immigrant nativist vigorously opposed the TPP, consistent with his long-history of poorly disguised welfare for whites style politics.

Jeff Merkley: Sanders-lite.

Tulsi Gabbard: Dumpster fire candidate.

Sherrod Brown: Protectionist as Hell.

Elizabeth Warren: Warren also used the same lies, and should be rejected outright.

Kamala Harris: Kamala Harris told reporters that she opposed the TPP trade pact because it didn't offer sufficient worker protections, an obnoxiously false attempt at pandering that beats out Sanders merely because she was dogwhistling a bit less than him.

Kirsten Gillibrand: Keeping with a long record of protectionism, Gillibrand refused to support Obama's legislative work.

Cory Booker: Fake "liberal" Cory Booker pretends he's for the American people and reasonable trade policies, but when the going gets tough, Cory gets going and resorts to the same old bullsh**t about "protecting American workers" (read: Obama-Trump voters).

Amy Klobuchar: Klobuchar has repeatedly opposed any free trade, although she at least has the excuse of running for election in a competitive swing state.

Pete Buttigieg: No on-record statements.

Jay Inslee: A solid candidate, Inslee actually understands how trade works. He didn't publicly support, but at least he didn't oppose it.

Julian Castro: Castro, in a bold move, came out in support of the TPP. Major props for that.

John Delaney: Delaney is also pro-TPP.

Joe Biden: Obama's VP obviously supported the TPP. A good candidate on this issue, at least.

Michael Bennett: Bennett is a vigorous fighter for the American people and a strong supporter of free trade.

And finally,

Beto O'Rourke: The only major Democrat with a shred of moral courage on more than one issue, Beto O'Rourke supported the TPP, and paid a strong political price for it. He is the candidate for actual Democrats, not Hofoid style pro-choice fascists.

How in God's name did you ever think the two most radical voices of Black America were not left-wing radicals?

Are you going to claim MLK was a Republican too?

A while ago there was a diary on Daily Kos saying basically she's disqualified for calling on Franken to resign. The Democrats are such a disgustingly hypocritical party. Most of them wanted Franken gone yet Gillibrand is the one thrown under the bus for the sole reason that she is actually a true believer on this stuff and wasn't just following the crowd. I never want to hear a Democrat complaining about Trump's pussy grabbing comments again.

It depends that the results of the 2020 election are.
I agree, if we get Trump out quickly enough we might be able to avoid the brunt of it for a while.
I'm not sure about that. Ever since the Democrats took the House of Representatives the economy hasn't been doing as well. The Democrats will cause the economy to crash before Trump does. This is a repeat of 2008 all over again.

Just out of political curiosity I would love to see some college town like Madison or Ames or Berkeley hold a city wide referendum on something like a city wide white privilege tax that only whites would have to pay, with proceeds used to fund some type of reparations.

I'm almost certain Berkeley, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Madison, Minneapolis, Ann Arbor, etc. would all vote for that.

I think in a Double Digit Dem Victory Elliot would flip.

Up to an 8 point Dem win Elliot will be solidly R but then after that it would begin swing hard and flip Dem around a 12 point Dem victory

Well, look at Eugene Debs platform when he ran for president. It called for unemployment Insurance, workers compensation for Injured Workers, the right to unionize, a 40 Hour Work Week, desegregation and civil rights, and government investment in infrastructure. When you get down to it, a moderate Republican in the 1970s would have supported Eugene Debs has platform from 1932. In fact, any Republican who doesn't in 2019 is frankly pretty damned unreasonable.
