I voted for Ron DeSantis in this thread’s poll, and I’m very sorry that I was right.

This is heartbreaking but I just knew it early on. Florida is too racist and an embarrassment to this country.

F**k Florida!

Florida Democrats didn't turnout the vote. Obama got more votes in 2008 in Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade than Gillum got tonight. You might say that's not a fair comparison but in those 10 years many Republican counties have grown. Also tonight in some of those Republican counties people were turning out like it was a Presidential election.

The fault lies in Miami. Miami is a fake city with fake people and Gillum underpreformed HILLARY in that county that was happy to elect rat-person Shalala to congress.

That was to be expected a little bit. Cubans didn't like Trump because of his Rubio disrespect and rhetoric but they came back home to two more generic Republcians in Scott and Desantis(who was backed by Trump) but toned it down after a while.

The thing was not the percentage but the vote totals. I need to double check but if Gillum would have matched Obama's 2008 numbers in PBC, Miami-Dade, and Broward he would have won.

Once again, Florida disappointed the Democrats.  All this about Puerto Ricans and younger voters --they just don't vote at the levels they should.

The growth and voting strength are in places like The Villages and the Gold Coast--midwestern retirees who register to vote as soon as they arrive.

In another decade Florida's going to be the GOP's California.

I had a gut feeling DeSantis would win, but I dismissed it as silly. Happy to see my gut was right and my head was wrong.

Anyone who thinks racism wasn't a factor in this election is blind.

WOW, the FLORIDA DEMOCRATIC PARTY threw away a winnable race? THIS IS A SHOCKING TURN OF EVENTS THAT NOBODY COULD HAVE PREDICTED.

Anyone who thinks racism wasn't a factor in this election is blind.

DeSantis takes a mostly consistent 4 point lead in the polls within a month and doesn't relinquish it through the campaign. With better organization and less skeletons in his closet, DeSantis easily out-raises and out-campaigns Gillum. Democrats blame racism, voting laws, and money as it becomes clear on election night that they have needlessly thrown away yet another winnable Florida race by nominating the FLGOP dream candidate.

My prediction wasn't all correct, but this part was certainly on the money.

DeSantis called Gillum a "monkey" and was attacked by racist robocalls by nazis and you still believe racism didn't play a factor in his loss?
