How many people would that equal per district?
roughly 500,000 in general though it varies per state, and there's a +/-10% deviation in use.

This is my challenge though. Giving anyone else the leeway to do any states only hurts the challenge.

No offense, but this kind of just amounts to yet another "the US House but with a different number of districts" project (which I like, don't get me wrong, and I think you draw districts very well, but there are just too many of them).

One thing I'd be interested in seeing for a change is multi-member constituencies - for example, what if the US had about 150 constituencies that could vary in size from, say, 3 to 5 (like the Irish ones do)? There's a lot of fun to be had with variable sizes and each States being split in unique ways, and the implications for partisan balance would be interesting.
