God bless the American Conference! Cincinnati may be barely top 50, but if the voters want to rank em, we'll just have to thank em. I have UCF at 7, USF at 28ish and Cincinnati much lower for the record. Temple is obviously favoured to stop the Bearcats sadly so probably only one potential ranked win for the Golden Knights.

The real question is, what has Oregon done to deserve to be ranked?

I have them in the very last spot even though USF would be nicer. Wazzu and USC are ahead of them amongst Pac-12 teams.

I thought about picking UCF losing on the road this week, since it could be kind of a trap game, but Memphis's defense looks like a wet paper towel this season.  This might be one of those 70-40 scores.

Florida and Vanderbilt just had a near-fight and both entire teams got Unsportsmanlike Conduct penalties.  Don't think I've ever seen that happen before.

That's looking like a pretty good pick at this point...still a long way to go though.

I should learn to stick with my initial picks...whenever I change my mind(as I did here), it's almost always in the wrong direction.

I think that even if UCF comes back, it's safe to eliminate them from playoff contention.

As a non Power Five team, you need to dominate your opposition to make the playoff, not just merely beat them.

LSU is shutting out Georgia, Washington is barely ahead of Oregon, and Pitt is barely ahead of Notre Dame.

I may have to drastically redo my playoff predictions, again.

Georgia getting crushed by LSU...and UCF has stormed back to take the lead in Memphis.

Memphis lost in the stupidest way possible, down by 1 point, just need a little bit to get the FG, but then mess up the clock LOL

I know not all games are final, but I've seen enough to make an updated playoff prediction:

1. Alabama (Unless for some reason Alabama loses to LSU and loses/misses the SEC title game, they aren't missing the playoff)

2. Clemson (Clemson takes advantage of this week's mini chaos by not playing, and by having a beatable ranked opponent next week in NC State...however, if the Wolfpack win that game, they vault right into the playoff picture, despite the cancelled game at West Virginia.)

3. Notre Dame (The Fighting Irish didn't impress at all against Pittsburgh, but as long as they don't lose, they are in)

4. Ohio State (The Buckeyes remain unbeaten, and assuming they beat Michigan State, Michigan and what I assume will be Wisconsin in the Big Ten title game, they'll be in. Heck, even losing only one of those three games makes getting in for Buckeyes possible)

Just missed: UCF, Texas, Georgia, Oregon (Not in that order).

While I'm sure that there have been weekends where more ranked teams lost, I can't think of a weekend where the Top 25 seemed so underwhelming as a group.  Save for LSU curbstomping Georgia, it was a lot of blah everywhere.

And just wait for Colorado to be demolished by the best team in their conference.

Illinois got wrecked this week but at least I got to go down onto the field during the game! Plus my adopted team Michigan destroyed Wisconsin and is BACK. Love how football is going this year.

I only got 14 right. I'm doing a bit better in the NFL pick'em though...

Cincinnati, USF, and UCF are all unbeaten and all three play each other in November. If one of the three finishes unbeaten, will that lock in a playoff spot for that team (especially UCF?)

Temple is going to be pretty easily favoured over Cincinnati. Undefeated UCF will not be making the playoff. (Temple is favoured over USF too, but I am less inclined to believe they will take that one. Give Blake Barnett four more weeks of learning this offense against legitimate defenses like Houston, and I think they would take that through some growing pains.)

No. There is no scenario in which a non-P5 can make the Playoff under this current season and schedules.

The only way it could happen in any year is if the undefeated non-P5 team has a win over a team in consideration. Like if 12-1 ACC Champion lost to 13-0 USF or something, then they'd kinda have to have USF in front of Clemson in line.
