Gillibrand Campaign Schedule March 2-7th

March 2nd

Joint Rally with Gretchen Whitmer in Lansing

"Michigan did something wonderful in 2018, you elected a woman with a plan. Gretchen is a dear friend of mine and has been a leader on infrastructure, women's access to healthcare, and true solutions. I plan on being that kind of President. I'm here in Michigan to roll out my plan for infrastructure, which states across this country desperately need, in spite of opposition from Republicans like Mike Pence, who believes that we have the money to cut taxes on the richest among us, but not for roads, clean water, or broadband fiber. I vehemently disagree with that view. A country as wealthy as ours shouldn't have crumbling roads and bridges, it shouldn't have pipes that are eroding lead into our drinking water, it shouldn't have uneven access to the internet just due to how rural a community is."

Campaign stops by Flint, to talk to the community about the water crisis and infrastructure

Rally in Detroit

"The tariffs that have been enacted in this country are ridiculous. Don't be fooled, they are a tax on every day Americans to play politics with our purchasing power. I believe leadership is working with our allies, not taking out of the pocketbook of our people to punish our friends abroad. I will continue fighting for fair trade, for protection of unions, and will repeal the tariffs if I am elected."

Town Hall in Grand Rapids, focus on money in politics

Tour of Upper Peninsula, speaking on Medicare-For-All and the importance of unionization

March 3rd

Campaign travels to Nebraska

Rally in Omaha

"We cannot continue to allow education to only be accessed by the richest among us. The cost of attending college has risen four times as fast as wages. We need to tackle this issue on multiple fronts, by increasing the minimum wage, providing grants in growing fields, and making community college free for all students. Our education system is so skewed towards the wealthy, creating a barrier of entry that requires fixing."

Gillibrand visits Omaha Reservation, speaking with Native Americans about sexual assault and the impact of trade wars on local economy

Rally in Lincoln about fair trade policies and postal banking

Tour of rural parts of the state, listening to concerns about agriculture impacted by climate change and trade policies

March 4th

Campaign Heads to Kansas

Rally in Wichita

"Healthcare is a human right. No citizen should go broke because they're sick. The fact is, 70% of Americans support Medicare-For-All, and I have a plan with a four year transition period to ease us toward universal healthcare coverage. Americans deserve to have their right fully realized, not used as a pawn in partisan politics."

Gillibrand visits manufacturers in Wichita, talking about trade policies and minimum wage increase

Town Halls across Southeast Kansas, speaking to former coal communities about a federal jobs retraining program and infrastructure

Rally in Kansas City on postal banking and protecting women's access to healthcare

Town Hall in Lawrence on rural broadband development as part of a federal jobs program

March 5th

Campaign Travels to Louisiana

Rally in New Orleans with Mitch Landrieu

"Voting rights have long been under attack by those in power. Disenfranchisement of African American communities is an affront to the civil rights movement. We need to lead the way in bringing back the voting rights of those who have served the sentences for their crimes. We need to make voting easier to access for those working long hours, or who may not have access to an ID. What we don't need is to punish our neighbors with restrictive laws meant to prevent our citizens from voting."

Tour of coastline, with town halls about environmental policies to protect the wetlands of Louisiana

Rally in Baton Rouge, focusing on voting rights and criminal justice reform

Tour of rural parts of the state, with a message on postal banking

March 6th

Campaign Travels to Mississippi

Rally in Jackson

"It's time to expand voting rights, fight for universal healthcare, and reform our broken justice system. It can not stand that our communities of color are being failed by the people in power. Our communities need banking, they need prenatal care, and they need leadership. For too long communities like yours have been forgotten, but I have not forgotten about you."

Gillibrand tours rural parts of the state, talking about her jobs program and infrastructure

Joint Rallies with Booker, focusing on voter re-enfranchisement

March 7th

Tour Across Rural Mississippi and Louisiana

"We lead the developed world in maternal mortality rates, which is unacceptable. I believe that all communities deserve access to a hospital and the care they need. The fact is, this is so preventable, but healthcare coverage has become a political issue, meant to divide us. What we need is total reform to the system, focusing on our rural communities."

Gillibrand meets with locals talking about rural development and infrastructure, with a focus on the impact of internet access.

Kirsten Gillibrand Campaign Schedule March 8th-12th

March 8th

Tour of farming communities in Nebraska and Kansas

“Our small farms are being forgotten in favor of mega corporations who stifle competition. Our government used to focus on breaking up trusts, whether they be technology companies or agribusiness. We seem to have forgotten that goal in exchange for deregulation of these companies, allowing them to give into their worst excesses. I will refocus us to fight for the small farmer, instead of for these huge companies.”

Tour of Reservations across the Nebraska and Kansas

Tour of wind turbine manufacturing plant

“Wind is the energy future of the plains states. We have the capability to bring energy production to communities that have been left behind due to automation and the shift from coal to natural gas. I imagine a future where our energy is varied, green, and independent. We can produce energy to power our grid right here at home, and I think your region can lead the fight.”

March 9th

Rallies in universities across Kansas and Nebraska, focusing on college tuition reform and raising the minimum wage

Town halls in Wichita about trade policy

Listening tour throughout Kansas City metro, focus on healthcare reform

March 10th-12th

Campaign crisscrosses Michigan, bringing big endorsers such as Gretchen Whitmer, Cory Booker, and Elizabeth Warren

Town Halls Across Upper Peninsula, with a message on postal banking’s impact on the area

Rally in Ann Arbor

“College costs have prevented the upward mobility of minority communities across the country. It furthers a system that is meant to keep our friends and neighbors from achieving their full potential. This is why we need free community college and further grants to ease the divisions between our racial communities. Our country is at its greatest when everyone has an equal opportunity for success.”

Town hall in Detroit, focus on jobs program

Rally in Warren about reproductive health and Medicare-For-All

Town Hall in Sterling Heights on trade policy

Tour of rural parts of the state, focus on rural development and infrastructure spending

“I can promise you I won’t forget communities like yours if I am elected. We desperately need new roads like your great Governor has pushed for, but we also need broadband access. Internet access should not be dictated by companies looking to get rich off of you. It should be a utility that thegovernment takes leadership on expanding the infrastructure for. That’s why it is such a large part of my jobs program.”

Ends the day on the 12th with a watch party with Gretchen Whitmer and Cory Booker

What did Jeter did 2

Jeter campagined in Kansas and Michigan on trade and repealing Trump’s tariffs and putting in a More fair trade system.

In Detroit Jeter called out Castro and Biden in their support of the neoliberal trade policies that destroyed Detroit and its motor industry.

In his speech he also criticized GM for not paying their employees good wages and not giving them good healthcare or education and said that they have gotten richer and richer and more selfish since Trump’s tax cuts.

Biden Ad #13: "Middle Class"
Running in Michigan, Maine

(Narrator talks)

President Trump and Mike Pence promised to stick up for the middle class.

But when push came to shove, Trump and Pence brought in dozens of millionaires and Wall Street executives.

Leaving millions of Americans in the dust.

Joe Biden knows that the middle class is what makes this country great and he'll keep fighting for them as President.

By expanding job training and skill programs to every American.

And fighting bad trade deals that hurt average Americans, like the Trump tariffs.

What Jeter did part 3

Jeter campaigned in Florida around Central Florida where in he campaigned close to the Pulse nightmare memorial where we campagined with Our Revolution Florida on gay rights and gun reform in with we argued for fixing of the NCIS system, universal background checks and magazine restrictions.

Jeter then campagined in Jacksonville on civil rights and trade policy.

Jeter than went back to Utah and Kansas and campaign on the agriculture and helping farmers and his work schemes.

CNN Election Night in America 2020: SUPER TUESDAY II

Wolf Blitzer: Welcome back to CNN's live coverage of Super Tuesday II where 9 more states/ territories head to the polls. It is 7:37 pm and we don't have any states closed we do have results in all the territories and Democrats Aboard coming in. Let's take a look at those results now.

Democrats Aboard Primary Results (17.9%)
Derek Jeter: 61%
Kristen Gillibrand: 19%
Joaquin Castro: 17%
Sherrod Brown: 2%
Joe Biden: 1%

Northern Marine Caucus Results (1.9%)
Kristen Gillibrand: 31%
Derek Jeter: 31%
Joaquin Castro: 29%
Joe Biden: 9%
Sherrod Brown: 3%

American Somoa Caucus Results (7.4%)
Kristen Gillibrand: 35%
Joaquin Castro: 33%
Derek Jeter: 21%
Sherrod Brown: 7%
Joe Biden: 6%

Wolf Blitzer: The only call we have now is that Derek Jeter has won the Democrat Aboard primary which many believed would happen since he is known worldwide from his baseball career and because of his Sanders like views.

CNN Election Night in America 2020: SUPER TUESDAY II

Wolf Blitzer: This night is just getting started and now that it is 8:00 on the east coast we have more states to report as more polls have closed:

Maine Caucus Results (0.01%)
Kristen Gillibrand: 39%
Derek Jeter: 37%
Joe Biden: 25%
Sherrod Brown: 0%
Joaquin Castro: 0%

Wolf Blitzer: With only one caucus location reporting, we are calling Maine as Too Early to Call, not to close to call. We do have Gillibrand and Jeter as the leaders in Maine

Mississippi Primary Results (1.9%)
Joe Biden: 27%
Sherrod Brown: 24%
Joaquin Castro: 21%
Kristen Gillibrand: 21%
Derek Jeter: 5%

Wolf Blitzer: Mississippi is too close to call. In the final days of the campaign, Biden attacked Brown for his ex-wife claiming abuse. Brown attacked backed but it looks like the attacks are hurting both candidates but more so Biden than Brown but their loss is really helping Gillibrand who surged in Mississippi in the final days. Now let's look at the states that have already been counting votes

Democrats Aboard Primary Results (25.3%%)
Derek Jeter: 64%
Kristen Gillibrand: 16%
Joaquin Castro: 16%
Sherrod Brown: 2%
Joe Biden: 2%

Northern Marine Caucus Results (7.6%)
Kristen Gillibrand: 32%
Derek Jeter: 30%
Joaquin Castro: 26%
Joe Biden: 11%
Sherrod Brown: 4%

American Somoa Caucus Results (7.4%)
Kristen Gillibrand: 34%
Joaquin Castro: 34%
Derek Jeter: 18%
Sherrod Brown: 10%
Joe Biden: 6%

Wolf Blitzer: No more calls at this time but this night has already started to become even dramatic than Super Tuesday since there is so many races that are so close that weren't suppose to be

CNN Election Night in America 2020: SUPER TUESDAY II

Wolf Blitzer: More polls have just closed as it is 9:00 pm and the results are coming in now

Kansas Caucus Results (0.02%)
Sherrod Brown: 26%
Derek Jeter: 24%
Joaquin Castro: 21%
Joe Biden: 20%
Kristen Gillibrand: 8%

Wolf Blitzer: Kansas is another too early but not too close to call race like Maine was at 8:00. We do have 3 caucus locations reporting but we still don't know who will win but the frontrunners in Kansas so far are Derek Jeter and Sherrod Brown with a close battle with Joaquin Castro and Joe Biden. You may see Castro's and Jeter's numbers start to go down but that is because only the rural areas are coming in and they do better in the cities and in the subs. outside of areas like Topeka.

Lousiana Primary Results (3.2%)
Joe Biden: 39%
Joaquin Castro: 31%
Kristen Gillibrand: 15%
Sherrod Brown: 14%
Derek Jeter: 1%

Wolf Blitzer: No surprise here but Joe Biden has won Lousiana which became closer in the final days between Biden and Castro even Gillibrand had a poll showing her within 5% but Biden has easily swept this from not only his strong African-American heavy base but because of his strong groundwork that he built the last few days.

Michigan Primary Results (0.3%)
Sherrod Brown: 29%
Kristen Gillibrand: 26%
Joe Biden: 24%
Joaquin Castro: 16%
Derek Jeter: 5%

Wolf Blitzer: Michigan is too close to call as Brown leads by 3% over Gillibrand who has surged in the final days with the attacks between the Brown and Biden campaigns about the abuse allegations.

Nebraska Caucus Results (0.05%)
Derek Jeter: 29%
Sherrod Brown: 24%
Joaquin Castro: 22%
Joe Biden: 19%
Kristen Gillibrand: 6%

Wolf Blitzer: With how the early caucus numbers are going and what our exit poll results show, we are calling this race as too close to call with the leaders being Jeter, Brown, and Biden with a close fourth by Castro but with the heavy white population and how much he is under-performing in the cities where he is in third behind Jeter and Biden, we believe that he will not be able to beat Biden, Brown or Jeter for even third. Now, let's take a look at races that have already started to report:

Maine Caucus Results (7.9%)
Kristen Gillibrand: 48%
Derek Jeter: 34%
Joe Biden: 17%
Sherrod Brown: 2%
Joaquin Castro: 0%

Mississippi Primary Results (13.4%)
Joe Biden: 26%
Sherrod Brown: 25%
Kristen Gillibrand: 22%
Joaquin Castro: 19%
Derek Jeter: 6%

Democrats Aboard Primary Results (57.3%%)
Derek Jeter: 63%
Kristen Gillibrand: 18%
Joaquin Castro: 15%
Joe Biden: 3%
Sherrod Brown: 1%

Northern Marine Caucus Results (25.6%)
Kristen Gillibrand: 33%
Derek Jeter: 28%
Joaquin Castro: 27%
Joe Biden: 9%
Sherrod Brown: 6%

American Somoa Caucus Results (42.7%)
Kristen Gillibrand: 35%
Joaquin Castro: 34%
Derek Jeter: 16%
Sherrod Brown: 11%
Joe Biden: 6%

Wolf Blitzer: Kristen Gillibrand has swept Maine which continues her sweep of the northeast, Jeter's campaign pulled it close and some Jeter Maine Feild Staff said that Jeter may be able to pull it off but he now is headed home with a second place.

CNN Election Night in America 2020: SUPER TUESDAY II

Wolf Blitzer: Already tonight has been a very close contest with only three called races out of nine. Now John King is going to take a look at the races already called to give more specifics about what is happening in each state espically close states like Kansas and Michigan

Kansas Caucus Results (2.4%)
Sherrod Brown: 27%
Derek Jeter: 22%
Joe Biden: 20%
Joaquin Castro: 16%
Kristen Gillibrand: 15%

John King: Kansas is too early to call with a close three-way contest between Biden, Jeter, and Brown. Right now the majority of the caucus reportings are in rural parts of the state which has hurt both Jeter's and Castro's numbers but has surged Gillibrand and gave a boost to Brown who now leads the state by 5%, not the earlier 2%. Jeter's campaign and Biden's campaigns both have told CNN that once the numbers in areas in Topeka and Witcha area starts to come in. I have heard that the Castro people are hoping that they can pull off an upset but with the results so far they think that they will remain about 18%.

Lousiana Primary Results (19.2%)
Joe Biden: 42%
Joaquin Castro: 30%
Kristen Gillibrand: 14%
Sherrod Brown: 14%
Derek Jeter: 1%

John King: Right now it looks like Biden is about sweeping most of the counties especially in the northern area right near the Arkansas border and Mississippi which is surprising since Biden lost Arkansas to Castro who is running third in a lot of those counties and in Mississippi where Biden is struggling to hold off a tough challenge from Brown. Biden has seen some of those counties by Texas go to Castro but this is another state that is going in the Biden column

Michigan Primary Results (12.8%)
Sherrod Brown: 30%
Kristen Gillibrand: 26%
Joe Biden: 27%
Joaquin Castro: 12%
Derek Jeter: 5%

John King: Brown has expanded his lead to 4% over Gillibrand but like Kansas, I don't believe that will keep but it is a good distance once Detriot start to come in where he performs worse. One area where I would look at is the very top of the part of Michigan, the area that is separated away, that usually comes in very late in the night and some of the last results to come in, that is again a good thing for Brown. As you can see in the two or three voting areas, that Brown is dominating there by about 10% to 15% which could help make up for his loss in the Detriot area. Now, let's look at Brown's Achilles heel, where he will have the most trouble, the cities especially Detriot. In that area, you will see a surge in support for Castro and Biden who both have surge numbers among Hispanics and African-Americans. Gillibrand will probably also see a bump but the numbers will probably look like a first by Biden, Second or Third by Gillibrand and Brown and a close fourth by Castro. Now, if Gillibrand doesn't get first or second and starts to have Brown get second and first in the areas in the city then she could kiss her chances goodbye in the state.

The endorsement by Whitmer has significantly helped Gillibrand but the endorsement by Stabenow to Biden has helped his campaign since he was able to start to close the Women gap between Gillibrand and Biden which has hurt him in close races with her like New Hampshire.

There is one thing that has really hurt Brown in the last few days in Michigan other than the Abuse allegations which aren't hurting him as bad as we thought earlier in the evening when the Mississippi polls closed. The one thing is his flip-flopping on the trade war, Brown said he would end the war on trade but just four years earlier he supported it and even said he would work with president Trump on trade. Though none of the main five candidates attacked this flip-flopping, multiple anti-Brown pacs started running flip-flop ads like the ones Romney faced in 2012, 2008 and Kerry faced in 2004 which hurt there campaigns a lot.

Nebraska Caucus Results (4.3%)
Derek Jeter: 25%
Sherrod Brown: 25%
Joe Biden: 21%
Joaquin Castro: 18%
Kristen Gillibrand: 11%

John King: Jeter and Castro are having the same problem in Nebraska as they have in Kansas. Both levels of support have dropped significantly as more of the rural areas come in. This caucus is still way too close to call with Jeter leading by about 0.2% margin but the people I have talked to inside the Brown and Biden campaigns are staying optimistic and there is no reason I can find for them not to be. Both Brown and Biden have a lot of potential of taking the lead so it is definitely way too early to call both Kansas and Nebraska because they are just too close with too many people still caucusing so this could go for anyone

Maine Caucus Results (19.3%)
Kristen Gillibrand: 47%
Derek Jeter: 31%
Joe Biden: 21%
Sherrod Brown: 1%
Joaquin Castro: 1%

John King: In Maine, it once again proves Gillibrand steargnths in the northeast and how strong her ground game is. I have spoken to a Jeter field staffer earlier in the night and he believed that he can pull it off. He said that he felt the momentum, he was correct since he was doing better than polls in the final days but it was not enough. Jeter has at least one or two counties on the northeast area but so far Gillibrand has swept the rest of the state

Mississippi Primary Results (46.9%)
Joe Biden: 29%
Sherrod Brown: 25%
Kristen Gillibrand: 20%
Joaquin Castro: 17%
Derek Jeter: 8%

John King: Joe Biden has started to pull ahead in Mississippi. This was supposed to be Biden country but in the final days, his campaign struggled here. Still, by the end of the night, I believe that Biden will be able to win with around a 3% lead which is decent but not nearly as impressive as his Alabama victory. I still wouldn't rule out a victory by Brown who did spend the last four days in Mississippi building support. I do believe that if the results keep going the way they are then both Gillibrand and Castro will come up short even if they overperformed in the remaining counties by about 5%. Still, the Castro campaign director in Mississippi said that he believes once the areas close to Arkansas come in that you could start to see a Castro comeback but I can't see that happening since Castro is doing poorly in that area in Louisiana.

Democrats Aboard Primary Results (98.6%%)
Derek Jeter: 67%
Kristen Gillibrand: 16%
Joaquin Castro: 16%
Joe Biden: 1%
Sherrod Brown: 0%

John King: Democrats Abroad is no surprise with a large lead by Jeter which is about the same amount of support Sanders won four years ago.

Northern Marine Caucus Results (34.6%)
Kristen Gillibrand: 31%
Derek Jeter: 30%
Joaquin Castro: 25%
Joe Biden: 14%
Sherrod Brown: 3%

John King: Territories are strong liberal areas that is why Gillibrand and Jeter are doing so well. If you look at the exit polls where you can see that Jeter would have won this area but Gillibrand has overperformed with progressives and so-called "Democrat Socialist" which helped her keep the lead in this area even though she is doing very poorly among Hispanics.

American Somoa Caucus Results (42.7%)
Joaquin Castro: 37%
Kristen Gillibrand: 31%
Derek Jeter: 15%
Sherrod Brown: 14%
Joe Biden: 5%

John King: Castro has turned his performance around, the early caucus results showed a strong flip towards Gillibrand but over the past ten to twenty minutes, Castro closed the gap and then took a pretty good lead. This lead is mainly due to Hispanic support for Castro going over 60%, it wasn't able to do that even if he just got 60% then he would have lost but Castro is very competitive in the state. Still, I think this race will just get closer as the night wears on and I think that the final results will be within 1% or 2% to either Gillibrand or Castro if my prediction of how the rest of the area goes

Wolf Blizter: Joaquin Castro has prevailed in the American Samoa territory, we believe that Castro has just won the caucus but with a close second by Senator Gillibrand. John, what do these results tonight mean so far.

John King: It proves one thing, this race is incredibly close, it is anyone's game. because all these results are razor thin. You can't look too much into them right now but I think everyone is finding their own wins but I think the winners out of tonight's results are Gillibrand and Brown. Brown has proven how strong his union support is, that is the reason that he is leading in Michigan. Gillibrand proved how important an energized base is and a strong ground game which helped her surge in states like Mississippi.

Wolf Blitzer: It is 10:30 pm and we still have multiple states waiting to be called, let's take a look:

Kansas Caucus Results (36.2%)
Derek Jeter: 28%
Sherrod Brown: 26%
Joaquin Castro: 17%
Joe Biden: 16%
Kristen Gillibrand: 14%

Michigan Primary Results (53.2%)
Kristen Gillibrand: 28%
Sherrod Brown: 28%
Joe Biden: 27%
Joaquin Castro: 15%
Derek Jeter: 2%

Nebraska Caucus Results (39.2%)

Kristen Gillibrand: 33%
Derek Jeter: 27%
Joaquin Castro: 26%

Sherrod Brown: 3%

Wolf Blitzer: Two more calls at this time, Nebraska goes for Brown and Northern Marine goes for Gillibrand. In both those states, Jeter put up a good fight but still was only able to get a second place. Still, At this hour, there is a battle in Kansas between Jeter and Brown and a three-way tie in Michigan between Gillibrand, Brown, and Biden.
