Goldwater, McCain, Kyl, Flake and now Sinema or McSally

If Donald Trump had lost in 2016, McSally would be running as someone who 'rejected the bigotry of Donald Trump' or whatever post-truth bollocks the GOP would have turned to in order to pretend that 2016 didn't happen. She's the absolute worse type of politician- one who simply bends, and runs to the latest ideological tilt of their party.

It's really not fair to put Goldwater, or McCain. (Or heck even Flake) in the same category as McSally.

I'd agree about Kyl though- they're both cretins who are born for the Senate GOP.

Goldwater and Jeff Flake were terrible senators

When McSally wins by five in the most predictable case of Atlas jumping the gun on a red state turning purple ever, feel free to quote this post.

This post is even dumber than Barry Goldwater. That is a pretty hard feat

Putting aside the Prada Socialist's transparent pandering for a second...is she just going to let McSally savage her over the next two months and never throw a single punch back? She's attacked a Senator from New York more than she's attacked her own opponent.
From what I understand she is going for a positive campaign, she never has run a negative campaign in her previous elections to congress.

Uh oh.

AZ-SEN Lean Dem ---> Tossup

Yeah, if she just lets the GOP bash her with no response she's going to fumble this thing.

Then again, if she gets elected, she'll quite possibly be the worst/most annoying democratic senator from a progressive perspective. What kind of democrat votes with Trump 61% of the time when he lost their district by double digits?

Yeah exactly. The choice in this race is not between a Republican and a Democrat, but between one Republican and 0.6 Republicans.

Great News!

McSally winning McCain's seat by 5% still sounds pitiful. Only 1964, 1980, & 2012 would have been closer Senate races

Welp, this race is over, guyz. I thought it was a far more likely pick-up than Tilt R swing state Nevada, but now that Sinema is behind by 1 in a Gravis poll and I heard somewhere that she's not unloading on McSally, it's clearly a less likely pick-up than Nebraska.

Likely D -> Titanium R

Yep. What a difference a single Gravis poll can make. Wink

Why exactly is sinema running to the right of Joe Manchin?

Because she thought she was leading in the polls due to her "moderation", not a divided GOP and a great political environment for anything with a (D) next to their name. A common mistake.

Gallego would be good, but hell no on Grijalva. Remember the 2010 race?

Sinema remains one of the worst Democrats running in a competitive Senate race.
This, and if we could swap Sinema and Rosen for Trauner and Raybould our odds of taking the Senate would go up AND we'd have better senators.

Sinema and Rosen are the only non-incumbent Democrats running in states that are anything close to competitive, so it's really impossible to compare. Arizona remains a highly Republican state, and it doesn't have the sort of ancestral Democrats that other states have. Republicans have won every Senate election in Arizona since 1988. That being said, it is open to some progressive economic messages. The state is definitely flipable this year.

Sinema will probably move left after taking office, at least for four years. She had a reputation as one of the most liberal members of the Arizona Senate. Her move to the center in the House was clearly calculated.

It’s really peak Atlas to declare Sinema doa over bashing Schumer and a “lol Gravis” poll having her down 1 when people like Josh Kraushaar and other GOP insiders have said nothing about the GOP feeling better about this race

Why would she move to the left while representing a Lean R state when she was a DINO while representing a Lean D district?

Roll Eyes

Rosen is fine and will easily be the next Senator from Nevada.

Sinema is worse than Manchin imo. But like Manchin, I tolerate her because we need to win this race.

I hope she moves to the left somewhat, at least after AZ shows signs of moving further leftwards. I don't know how long I can stomach her DINO moderate hero nonsense.

Would you Berniecrats rather have 35 Elizabeth Warrens in the senate and let the GOP steamroll?
