I’m more sympathetic to Russia than most democrats because I’m half Russian and my mother and her family are from there and she was born there.

All the African-Americans who are unhappy being under inevitable and terrible republican rule for the foreseeable future in the neighboring states of Arkansas and Louisiana should come to Texas. They would turn the state instantly blue.

This forum's complete ignorance to the fact that certain people LIKE THEIR HOMES just because they don't seem as "cool" of places to the users here is truly astounding.

We need a constitutional convention that rewrites the Constitution to delegate the powers of the Senate to the House. In fact, a Parliamentary system is superior to a presidential system.

Individualism is not inherently better than collectivism (though it's not inherently worse, either. The ideal is a balance of both, IMO.)

I think there actually is real scientific statistical evidence that exists to prove this statement as fact.

Apparently my belief that an unbeaten UCF Football team should be in the College Football Playoff over a one loss Oklahoma team is an unpopular opinion.

After the war, instead of what happened, high ranking and especially brutal people like Nathan Bedford Forrest should have either gone to prison for the rest of their lives or executed, and their property given to their ex-slaves as reparations.

I would have done that to all White Southerners...but that's why I wasn't in Congress during the 1860's-1870's.

That would be a little ridiculous, there were thousands and thousands of white southern unionists, many of whom did not even own slaves, and many of whom took up arms against the confederacy.

As a Northerner, I wouldn't have trusted them one bit. I would've assumed they had some ulterior motive (like a seat at the table if the North won), rather than fighting for the right reasons (ending slavery).

Well I would have been one of those white southern unionists that would have tried to resist, and you definitely know that I hate the confederacy. Not every white southerner is a villain out of a horror movie.

As somebody who suffered a terrible porn addiction in 2017 and spent the first eight months of 2018 fiercely fighting to get over it, saying it's "bad" is the biggest understatement I think I have seen in at least a month

Because they're not one of the 4 best teams. Scott Frost didn't even have them in his top 4 in the coaches poll.

I agree, bad is too soft a word. It's a public health crisis that most of the medical community is not taking seriously.

Lets be real here; the vast majority of us would would have just kept our heads down at best had we lived in the Confederacy, Nazi Germany etc. There's no reason to think we'd arrive at the correct moral principles, much less have the courage to act upon them had we grown up in a different era.

It's only bad if you're addicted to it, and in that case, fight it with all your might if you can and see a professional. But it's no public health crisis due to the vast majority of people who enjoy it responsibly and are no worse of due to it, me and basically all my friends included.

Utah had to declare it as such

in 2003, the 14th amendment was finally ratified by every state.
This means that everything in the 14th amendment legally supersedes constitutional protections that require unanimous consent from the states in the constitution, including the equal protection clause from which the 1 person 1 vote principle was derived.
Thereby, the unanimous consent requirement to change the composition of the Senate has been met after that point, and the principle of 1 person 1 vote can legally be held to apply to the US Senate from that point forward.

TLDR: The US Senate is unconstitutional.

The school day should be longer and academic standards in K-12 education should be much more intense to bring the USA up to par with competition in East Asia.

Michael Bennet would be an amazing President, and he is by far the best of the potential Democratic candidates in 2020.

I would much rather just do away with summer break.
