I haven't been on for the last bunch of days. Because I got a new job, and it takes a lot of time.

Tripped on a girl's feet on my way to lunch today. Flew what felt like 20 feet, but I still stuck the landing with my food intact.

At that point, you wink and walk away while putting on shades. Then The Who starts playing.

The Thomas Fire has destroyed much of my hometown. I evacuated, and I am safe. Our house seems to be safe as well for the time being, although I am spending the night at my dad’s offfice.

The park where everyone would either go to enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of the shore (or hook up) is gone. Two Trees, which was the city landmark, is an ash heap. The ballroom where I attended stupid middle school awards ceremonies and took music lessons and went to policy hearings is destroyed. Entire neighborhoods are going up, and the fire is still going strong as I write this. Friends of mine had to leave homes as their backyards went up in flames. It’s incredibly sobering stuff.

However, we’ve made it through a lot before as a city, and we’ll do it again. #VenturaStrong

I was just watching some footage from ABC7. Horrible. This fire is big and fast, and unless the winds change I fear a lot more will burn. Stay safe.

I wish you the best, Ted.

This morning, I began drinking a glass of water and thank God I stopped!  I saw something in there and it was a piece of broken glass.

Thanks for the concern, guys. It means a lot.

I’m safe, I will be for the foreseeable future, and it appears that the house is going to be okay as well. They are really able to get at the fire from the air now that the sun is up, and it seems like they are making progress, but it’s too smoky to really see much. Because I have limited battery supply, this will probably be my last update for a while.

Also, if you are an Atlas poster in the area in need of supplies or a place to stay, shoot me a PM.

Today, me and my girlfriend had a bit of an accident that ended with her busting her lip, and her nose bled a bit too. I can't go into too much detail, but basically we were doing something and she fell off the edge of the bed and hit her face on the floor, while I just laughed my ass off for a good 5 minutes.

Stir crazy from lack of gym time. Meanwhile, my studying hasn’t even kicked into high gear, so I’m in a position of evading success in both fitness and academics. And even after my last final, I’ll still be at work the next day...

That's been my experience since moving down south.  Glad I'll be leaving it.

I don't know how people in Texas or Arizona deal with it, though.

It just occurred to me that one of the states I might be moving to is probably drier.  RIP me

My parrot flew away yesterday and we never found him, even though we looked really hard. He was with us for five years (and could've lived for 45 more), and almost felt human because he was very smart and learned to mimick words quickly. Hell, he told us 'bless you' when we sneezed and 'bye' when we went out.
It's really painful. I just hope someone either took him in, or he passed quickly and without too much pain. I can't bear the thought of him shivering in the cold, lost, hungry and thirsty, petrified by foreign voices like howling jackals and fireworks.

This is always painful Sad Hope you'll find your friend somehow or, at the very least, he'd be safe out there.

He sounds like he was a great pet, PG. Sad  Don't lose hope that he'll find his way back, as pets sometimes do.

Update: He's been found! The sister of my father's colleague called to say that she found a parrot in her building. We quickly arrived, and without a shred of doubt it's him. The little rascal managed to make his way to the city's center, fairly far away from our home. He's weak and tired, but hopefully with some food, rest and water will get better! Smiley
