I dont think Morrisey can win this senate seat. His reelection margin victory was definitely not spectacular

Morrisey had higher recognition, no surprise (he's statewide while Jenkins only represents 1/3 of the state). Jenkins needs to step it up, there's still time for him to get ahead and take the lead. I hope he wins, he's a better fit, and is way more West Virginia than Morrisey.

I think it's been mentioned here before but the WV-GOP is an underrated pick for worst state party. They are in power through forces completely out of their control.

He'd still Blanche Manchin since he's not a member of the anti white hate group.

Try the Arkansas and Tennessee Democrat Parties. ,

After next year, the CA GOP too (if not already). They won't be on the ballot for the two biggest statewide races and they'll probably end up with just 7-8 out of 53 House seats in the state.

I had a dream last night that I was watching Manchin and Morrissey debate. The first question was, “what do the letters DT stand for to you?” Morrissey said Donald Trump, Manchin said “dat thing” and then started breakdancing as the audience cheered.

In summation, this race is safe D.

I usually have weird dreams, but not about Joe Manchin if that's what you're asking.

I'd actually say it's IL and FL Dems on the Democratic side (for obvious reasons), and VA and AZ state GOP on the Republican side.

Republicans in Virginia are completely oblivious to the fact that on almost every level, Virginia is a blue state. They still think that they can be Reaganite conservatives, run as far to the right as they want, and win; they're stuck in the 90s. Arizona is the same thing, though definitely not as bad.

I suspect this poll is an outlier. But either way, Joe Manchin is basically the extent of the Democratic bench in WV right now.

Junk Poll. If he was 51-48 in WV, he'd be in the 20s nationally, low 30s at best.

Also, Trump outperformed the WV polls by 15-20 points, but nobody noticed because it was obvious he was going to win in a blowout anyway:

Manchin flirted with dropping out, citing annoyance with the Senate and Democratic disrespect for moderates, but is running for reelection.

He can do more to rebuild the moderate Dem brand from within the Senate than from outside of it
