This is a place where we will monitor Opebos sometimes disgusting and hilarious posts. I will start off with some classics :

These would be a dream campaign - two great guys.  I would be happy whichever one won, but of course MJ gets my vote.  A true freedom fighter.

Of course every single state would go for Blake because he is of the more popular race.

Killing cops in apartheid South Africa is no different than killing SS officers in occupied France.

Hear hear!  Then again, I think cop killing is admirable in the US due to their enforcement of laws which reduce private freedom, such as drug laws or laws against prostitution.  The only places where the cops are fairly blameless are say the Netherlands and a few others.

Bump. New poll added!!!

State's right's watch:

You said that anyone who opposed the Jefferson family knocking up one of their 15 year old slaves is a bigot because they must be against inter-racial couples.

No, my main point was the lad was 13 or 14 at the time!  How absurd to call that strapping, horny lad a 'child'!  MJ just wanked him off - what the hell harm is there in that?   This is my point about sexual maturity = puberty.  The pay factor was just to remind people that it was all very voluntary and consensual, and that it benefited the young man far more than it could possibly have 'harmed' him.  In all honesty how could anyone think that having sex is harmful?

My favorite still:

Would you have minded being wanked off by someone of your sexual preference at 13 or 14?  I suspect not.

Btw, while I don't share NAMBLA's predelictions, I do applaud their fight for freedom.

Who else voted 'Very Positive'?  Actually I don't care much for him personally (he's probably a religious), or for his music, but I have to support him in his fight for freedom and individual rights.  Also all the wrong people hate him - the intolerants.

Yeah, there's some crazy stuff on Opebo here, but I figured it was only fair to mention that.

I agree.  The US is the number one threat to peace and stability in the world today.  If I were North Korea, Iran, or (in the past) Iraq, I would be desperate to get a nuclear arsenal to defend myself against the rogue state.

And for flipflopping sakes. Smiley

The most left wing of the mainstream candidates is actually Edwards... he'd make a good Labour cabinet member.

I agree Realpolitik that Edwards is further left than he is percieved to be - and this goes to my point that people percieve candidates by their region more than their ideology.  Ideology can be hard to pin down, whereas a Southern accent automatically makes right wingers give you the benefit of the doubt, and left wingers view you with suspicion.
Of course I see ALL Democrats as too left wing!

Juxtaposition for Context

New England and California aren't leftist.

What're you basing their 'leftism' on?  The fact that they vote for the Center-Right Democrats?

Like Boxer, Feinstein, Frank, Meehan, Dodd, and Sanders ?

Thanks for the special thread guys.  I proudly stand by everything I've said, though I must admit my Republicanism of the distant past is  pretty embarrassing.

this quote is a doozy.  im pretty sure he didnt type it with a straight face.

Also even if it did cause some inflation and unemployment it is preferable than labouring for the current miserable wages.   Certainly the unemployment could be easily dealt with by providing a generous, comfortable Welfare State for the unemployed to relax in.

Opebo Through History

1876 Election

I love the late 19th century Republicans.

1928 Election

1964 Election

Goldwater was a wonderful guy.  Happily, since Reagan a lot of elected Republicans resemble Goldwater.

1968 Election

Yes, I like LeMay a lot - his ideas won WWII, and the fact that we abandoned them is the reason for the defeats in Korea and Vietnam.  If it was a LeMay/Wallace ticket, you bet, but the other way round no thanks.

I voted for Nixon.  Humphrey would've been my last choice.

1980 Election

I was 12, and everyone in my family took Reagan's election as a sort of repreive, a 'last chance' for America.

Both Blue and Red Opebo's were/are crazy (I dimly recall Blue Opebo claiming that the Robber Barons were wonderful people...) and it's only a matter of time before either Green or Yellow Opebo emerges...

Religion is an offensive act that should be kept out of the public view.

[Evangelicals are a] plague on the earth.  ...

In short, bring out the lions!

I only want them fed to the lions because they are against me having my fun.  Self defense.

FRESH QUOTE!

I would be more likely to vote with my party if they ran a NAMBLA member.
